I'm 23. My grandpa is going to give me $25,000 to start investing with. He is a typical boomer stock guy, buy blue chip and hold. This is what he is recommending to me. Give me advice

Not financial advice but go with crypto “blue chips” not even a little kidding if it’s not in the top 20, maybe 100 and you went in you need to seriously ask yourself: Did I stumble on the right thing at the right time when very few others did?
Or would you rather put your precious funds into something substantial

or do it 20/3/2, whatever feels right to you
and if you go into crypto, stick to btc/eth
there's a huge chance this is a test. your grandpa wants to see how you'll handle 25k - you can throw it on pokemon coins and MAYBE do x10 with it (you'll just go to 0 with it), this will make you look like a complete fool
or you can show that you are responsible adult (at least in his eyes) that understands risk

Long profitable and undervaluated companies + short the market. Do it with ATM options spreads. A bull spread for companies, a bear spread for market.

Simple like that. You can manage to have 10-30% return per trade, and if lucky enough to have your company overbeating the market you can earn 100%.

Meaning if you put a grand in at the ABSOLUTE lowest dip, you would have only made $200 from waiting a day or two. And all the cryptos are still slowly sinking rn, but definitely rocketing down overtime. Like there's going to be a huge crypto crash that floors literally everyone's investments overtime. Check "All time" charts for the coins. Keep in mind, the altcoins are definitely showing this trend, BTC/ETH is still unpredictable.

Use the money to start your own business.

You can find courses that will teach you how to learn a skill and sell that, and grow that into a business that runs without you. This is the most likely scenario your Gramps is trying to teach you, as most immigrants got wealthy owning their own businesses.

10k mutual fund
10k crypto (not shitcoin)
5k 'blue chip' for your grandpa

Since you have absolutely fuck all idea what you're doing I'd go for BTC + XMR 50/50 or 75/25. Consider 'cost averaging' in over 3-6 months. But if you're on a decent salary chuck it in and start adding 1k month through next entire bull/bear cycle without withdrawing anything.

the point of that parable is that two of the servants went forward and worked with the talents out of love for their master, even though he did not even ask them to bring back a profit, while the other hid his talent out of fear. it’s not necessarily about the quantity of the fruits you bear and return, but doing so out of love

If you are considering crypto, he may approve LTO. Most stock like coin out there, used by real businesses and governments. Their usage of the network flows back to stakers, basically like dividends. 7% apy right now, with half the network staked, entirely from transaction fees. And transactions are expected to grow 25% MoM. And it's only a 100mil mc coin.

That's the one. I have no clue what LCX is, but LTOs biggest use-case now is "anchoring" business workflows, for proof of document authenticity (but are expanding into DIDs this year). The team actually has a revenue stream from their software solutions (that easily link legacy systems to the LTO Network) so they don't have to dump their coins on investors to make a living.

The ATH in daily transactions was hit last week, 125k, making it one of the top 10 most used networks. Clients spent around 950k LTO in transaction fees in February, 270k of which was burned, and the rest went to stakers. As I mentioned, that puts the staking return at about 7% annually, even though it has half of the supply staked right now (136mil LTO, the ATH)

Their biggest name project is going to begin this month, the UN Land Registry. Right now Afghanistan is the first to move their land registry onto LTO, but there is another country following that hasn't been announced yet, and more are expected to follow.

And another big client, SignRequest, was recently acquired by Box, who is used by a lot of fortune 500 companies. They are planning to push their document signing services to their clients this year: https://www.deep-analysis.net/box-acquires-signrequest-our-thoughts/

At only a 100mil marketcap, LTO is severely undervalued

your parents were too stupid to live in the future and fell for the living in the present meme. Your children will be poor like you until your genetic line ends or some billionaire keeps your grand daughters around as pets after the lower and middle classes are replaced with machines.
