When you sell a call against your 100 shares, you sell the right to buy your 100 shares from you for some price at some time in the future. So imagine you have 100 shares of SOXL right now. You could sell a call that expires March 19th with a strike price of $900. The current price of SOXL is $640 so what the person is buying is the right to buy your SOXL for $900 which is $260 more than SOXL is currently priced at and they have to exercise this right by March 19th which is 18 days from today.
