The Sobriety Token is a crypto-currency that is backed by the user's sobriety. The more sober you are, the more tokens you have. The tokens cannot be traded or given to others unless the user's sobriety is third party verified. For instance, a person can get a certificate from their Wednesday night AA meetings saying they've been sober for at least 6 months and then have their coins verified at a crypto-currency exchange like Bitstamp. Anybody can verify the sobriety of any other user in exchange for Sobriety Tokens.

It lives on the Ethereum blockchain and is built on its own proprietary proof-of-sobriety consensus algorithm called Proof-of-Mends, or PoM. The PoM algorithm calculates sobriety based on the status of individuals who have taken an anonymous online survey. The online survey has been validated against the DSM 5 & CBAE (CAGE) surveys which are considered to be standard clinical protocols for substance use disorder and addiction monitoring in the USA and Canada, respectively.

I celebrated 420 days a few weeks ago.

Getting sober literally changed my life and made me realize how much boozing was hamstringing me. Within 12 months I landed a job making six figures for the first time in my life and staying sober has given me such a better temperament for investing and not letting my emotions rule.

That said turning sobriety into a trading token with monetary value is beyond scummy if this is what I think it is. I didn’t bother to read the op because I’m playing yakuza 0 and the gook speak is distracting
