Stock market already collapsed, banks were well capitalized, no runs. It was deflation. Primary driver of inflation/deflation is money velocity not QE/money printing. Think of it this way: if you spin a rope with a weight on the end, what impacts the velocity of the weight more, the length of the rope or the angular velocity of the spin? That's the relationship QE and velocity of money have to inflation. QE is like the seed that makes inflation possible but velocity of money multiplies it many times over. Shut down the economy, velocity of money stops, deflation occurs.

A better way to spot a correction is when it breaks the bullish trend, which could be more or less than 10%. For example, Apple is currently in a correction after dropping ~18% from its high.. but back in september 2020 when it dropped ~25% it was technically just a pullback because it held the bullish trend. So yeah indices are currently just in a pullback, NQ is super close to enter a correction though after only a 8% drop

Yield is quite weird right now.
On one hand we are overvalued by any measure, except those accounting for low yields. With yields rising it means stocks are getting less attractive again.

But rising yields mean less people buy safe bonds and invest in the economy. Which means we should see money going into the economy and stocks.

On the other hand a growing economy just means that there is a new alternative to "all in on AAPL" and banks can give out loans to actual businesses again and shit.

Weird shit happened last week. Bond markets seemed to think
>Everything is back to normal, and therefore all the pumping will cause inflation
And then the report came out on Friday, and yields went back to 1.4%. Still a bit high, but it reflects the odd, sector-based slowdown in the economy.

Yes. Unironically, yes.
"pricing in" doesn't happen instantly
It blows my mind how people in /smg/ still think that "priced in" is a thing
that people think that the market doesn't react to events occurring
for example, TAN stock (solar ETF)
people began to price in a Biden victory and bid up solar in the lead up to the election
after Biden won, it continued to run up
>OH BUT IT WAS PRICED IN THAT BIDEN WAS WINNING!!
then why did it go from $70 in November to $100 now?
surely the market should have priced it in and had it at $100, according to your logic
it doesn't work that way dude
priced in does not mean what you think it means
behavior changes to match expectations, but when the event actually occurs, it still causes changes

Any speed bumps, like canceling a vote, would cause a dip as traders tamper expectations.

Don't ask me about min wage and plan B. My best guess is the market would only care if they think it will impact earnings. Different companies would be affected in different ways.

The rising share prices encouraged more people to invest, hoping the share prices would rise further. Speculation thus fueled further rises and created an economic bubble. Because of margin buying, investors stood to lose large sums of money if the market turned down—or even failed to advance quickly enough. The average price to earnings ratio of S&P Composite stocks was 32.6 in September 1929,[35] clearly above historical norms.[36] According to economist John Kenneth Galbraith, this exuberance also resulted in a large number of people placing their savings and money in leverage investment products like Goldman Sachs' "Blue Ridge trust" and "Shenandoah trust". These too crashed in 1929, resulting in losses to banks of $475 billion 2010 dollars ($556.91 billion in 2019).[37]

Exactly why I'm strongly considering getting out of the market before then even though most of my account is stuff I've held for 10 months straight since the crash for long term cap. I'm becoming deebly goncerned that too many others are in the same boat. Which sucks because I would have actively traded all year and made a lot more than my measley triple had I traded actively. But I fear the long term cap gains profit takers.

Do you even know what "pricing in" is/means when people refers to it? The 40% run-up in september was them potentially pricing in a Biden victory, what happens next is just faith and especially MONTHS after something since clearly the company/companies will either continue doing good or bad. They don't price something in for a fucking full quarter, if that was the case price would literally just crab forever until they price something in again. For example when Trump argued with China and the algos started sperging out over news that wasn't released to the public yet, that was them pricing something in rapidly.. the exact same thing would happen with the stimulus shit if it was actually a "surprise" to anyone. They don't just sit there manually pressing the buy or sell button depending on the news they read, it's way more complicated than that
