You can’t afford it. Just use the fucking acid test. It makes red, silver oxide crystals. The redder the better. You can buy nitric acid tests on eBay. X-ray diffraction requires special equipment and the right software. Look up John Attard out of San Fran. He has a suite of devices for identifying materials. He works mostly in mineralogy but he should be able to test anything you send him.

Here’s his email. He’s very prompt and will lead you by the nose. He also calls you following an email with your results. Here’s a copy of the test he did for some calcite I sent him.

Anyway, it’s $50 for the test he does. Nitric acid is reliable and much cheaper. It’s also faster than waiting a week or more for him to get the sample you send him.

My argument against BTC being a "Safe store of value" is that governments can, with a push of a button, regulate it to death or make it illegal to convert it into fiat currencies, thus forcing massive capital flight from "institutions" who have been speculating in it and creating the bubble that we see.
