Would you rate this a good metal/mining ETF? its pretty light on silver but should be pretty consistent with whats going on in this clown world and the future.

Gonna have to individually put stonks on silver miners afterwards cause degiro(uk) prohibits certain ETFs from murrica, so no SILJ

You're a charlatan and a snake-oil salesman manipulating the recent silver mania to pump yourself up in the guise of getting people in early on the next "big thing". The time to buy silver was back in March, and the next time to buy will be in 4~12 month's time when the stock market plunges--not now when silver is near its momentary high of $25-30 spot.

My guess is that your black jewish ass will be nowhere to be found when the market goes under in a year's time and people are holding $25-30 silver at $10-15 spot. Get the fuck outta here with your shilling bs; you're living proof of the adage that once a jew, always a jew.

Went through CMC Metals today, though I still have to view their Silver Hart technical report and understand the asset a little better. So far it seems Silver Hart, Blue Heaven and Rancheria South, which are all located very close by to each other as well as close by to the north of Coeur Mining's Silvertip Mine (Rancheria South especially, was about 10km north iirc), are what this company is all about. The company's newly optioned Newfoundland claims did not impress me much considering their early exploration stage. Reading a scientific report on Bridal Veil, it seemed to me like the fine-grained chalcopyrite and galena mineralization which is hosted in quartz veins doesn't extend far down dip, and considering that there is very little previous exploration done on the property and that there is little changes in elevation or surface outcroppings, exploration over at Newfoundland will take a long time before anything of note is found. Also the 100tpd mill facility located in California confuses me a little, I'll have to ask the CEO about his plans regarding that. The company cannot operate the mill yet, that I know for sure.

The Silver Hart and related assets are what we're interested in then since they are the most developed assets the company has. The recent option agreements of adjacent Blue Heaven as well as Rancheria South indicate the company intends to focus on expanding their resource base over there and that they believe they can find more ore. The CEO's monthly blog posts on the company website clearly indicate this too. The NFL assets were acquired because exploration season in the Yukon is smaller. Not too much to complain about the silver assets: high grades, multiple showings, historical bulk samples, all great stuff. Mineral Resource estimate shows a bit over 1.24Moz Ag but it's very high grade, over 555gpt Ag. If they can increase those resources this could be fantastic. But I'll have to read the technical report still.

That's all for now folks

Good that you've done some DD anon, I hope you understand any of the things you read (if you don't -- check the miner pastebin to learn, or ask questions here).
>So is silver in the name more important than underlying numbers for miners?
Absolutely not. Silver in name just makes it easier for normies to find the company so if/when silver starts galloping those will probably go up first. The "Silver" in the name is marketing. But don't let it define your decisions of course, invest into the best companies you can find first and foremost.
I don't give advice but of those three I know Bayhorse and I believe the company can do great even at current metal prices as long as they can get that offtake going and really start producing. Remains to be seen but personally I believe in the company enough to have bought a few thousand shares.
>>29860994
In that case I would recommend majors (though I admit I don't know much about them!). Barrick is a no-brainer for gold exposure, second biggest gold producer in the world and the ticker is $GOLD. Newmont too, they produce the most gold. Kirkland Lake Gold is another big one. All fantastic exposure to gold but make sure you do your DD, check the PE ratios and the usual stuff and maybe read some market analysts considering you don't know anything about miners. OR you can start learning about the industry by reading the links in the miner pastebin, located in the OP. That way you could even consider the riskier juniors once you know a little bit about what you're doing.

If you're short term holding and are expecting a catalyst soon to do 50%+ on your stocks, the ones with "Silver" in their name will do better.

Yeah I'm not totally sold on the company yet but maybe the technical report or the CEO can convince me otherwise. They definitely have some very prospective ground over there near Silvertip, and Coeur is going to expand their mill in a few years so who knows, maybe they'll be able to ship their ore from their (hopefully) significantly increased resource base right over to the Silvertip Mill. That would be a great, cheap arrangement too.

>Buy precious metals and stuff like that

>Store them properly in a room in the basement and never sell
>Pass it on to children and teach them to do the same
>1 or 2 generations from now something will increase in value, whether it's the pennies I stockpiled or the pokemon cards they no longer make
>Progeny sells off like 20% of assets that have increase in value, use most of the profits to buy more and keep some of the money for themselves, essentially free money for them. If they see that it provides income for them they'll want to pass it on to their kids
This seems like an extremely easy generational money making scheme, can really only be broken by natural disasters or a bad link but if you teach your kids well you should have at least 1 good one you can trust with the stash who will hopefully pass it on to one of their kids. Will be a focus on stuff that doesn't take up a lot of space, so cards and old money will be the primary thing. Don't screenshot or share but think about the possibilities for yourself, all that easy ebay money you could rake in.

I’m making some coins via lost wax right now. I want to essentially give them away, likely here. Is there a site that allows me to list items, where the buyer pays the shipping cost and then they can add whatever amount as a tip or other? Essentially I want to be able to drop these coins online, post the link in PMG and then whoever gets there first can buy them. If anon wants to pay the $4.35 for me to ship it, cool. If anon wants to pay $4.35 to ship and add $20 to help me continue my minting projects.
The coin will be particular to pmg, cast in copper for my first design and casting. My hope is to be able to maybe make enough to get a die made to strike my next batch. I’m a stay at home dad with time on my hands and casting is a hobby of mine. I’m bored.

Sure let's see.

>Q: What's a good miner?
I don't think the answer in section really answers the question lol. It's good that it's made clear that these are risky penny stocks and that one can get exposure with an ETF though. Also good that the answer directs people to places they can learn. Still, the answer kind of leaves the question blue-balled. My answer would maybe be something like: "A good mining company to invest in has a trustworthy and competent management; a sturdy balance sheet and sharestructure; properties in good jurisdictions; and great mining assets that have a high potential for an economically mineable deposit." Obviously this raises new questions, upon which I would point them towards the miner pastebin to learn about judging the results, as well as ceo.ca since that's a useful tool for DD.
>Q:No seriously just tell me what miners to buy.
The point about majors over juniors for the ignorant/lazy is great, I would add ETFs too. The links to the lists of miners were good, plenty to choose from there. Personally I would just answer "lurk moar" since so much shilling and discussion on the same handful of companies goes on here so much.

Not really much else I feel the need to comment on, it's a good, thorough package for /pmg/ in general I think

For every purchase of silver get 90% of your purchase in cheap stuff and 10% in coins you like / numismatics, that's my plan. I'm not worried about a loss of maybe 5 to 7 % of my stack's weight in value since I'll have a huge stack of silver while still having a foot in the numismatic train. Honestly boomers that hoard all these "valuable" and "collectible" trash deserve to have it all thrown away if they don't seriously communicate the resale value of the shit they keep. I don't want to sort through 6 million fucking baseball cards to find out that this specific brand of Babe Ruth 3rd edition 2nd misprint is worth $50. This is why gold and silver is much better. You literally just say "hey this shit is gold, it's worth whatever the spot price per oz is, you can google it." Much less mental work involved and it's a better store of value anyway than cardboard and ceramic plates.

This is the biggest flaw, which is why it requires actually explaining to your kids what the method of investing you're using is. It will take 1 to 2 generations for that "junk" to actually start generating value, and by that point they will realize its value and stop seeing it as junk. The biggest hurdle is obviously the first generation or two where only a couple things in the collection will actually be worth something, heavy lessons in investing will be needed.

Also it's important to remember not to stack heavy and retarded shit like "fine china" or cups, even records are in the danger zone despite their massive appreciation in value. A few boxes of pokemon cards / nickels / old vidya games will largely be ignored though if they're stored properly in an out of the way area. My father had a record collection mom recently sold off, he bought them all at garage sales for like 10 to 25 cents each and they all sold at a few dollars each, that was obviously a good bet even if they're mostly all sold now. Made him a good chunk of money and he got to collect a bunch of cool records for cheap. I plan on doing this but better.
>>29863871
This too but baseball cards are a really good thing to keep, any "card" really is worth keeping if you can pick it up for cheap since they take up nearly no space and are easy to store. This is the most important part to communicate to them, that it costs them NOTHING to store it and will increase in value in the future. Proper labeling and sorting also goes a long way.

I recently built myself one of these to test my silver coins. Thankfully, all of my coins "passed" this test, but many non-silver coins passed too - pre- and post-1982 pennies, for example. I knew that copper had similar diamagnetic properties to silver, but shouldn't a post-1982 penny with its 2% copper content just slide down with no resistance?

How can I be sure my silver isn't copper/brass on the inside, especially if I don't know what the exact dimension are supposed to be (i.e. an older bar or round)?

I'd agree if I were to come upon some, sell 20% of the collection, keep 80% for the kids. The value of something like that may go away, or it may return 100 or 200 years from now. It's more of a generational family thing and anything that's deemed "worthless" may actually increase massively in value in the future due to none keeping it around. This is especially evident in hyperinflated currencies that were just lying around in the street, each bill that would be free could have been sold on ebay today for like 5 dollars and will only increase in value. Worthless now = likely worth something 200 years from now.

This would be better maybe, maybe not. In any case I don't agree with selling 100% of anything, so maybe sell closer to 50% of the cards. For a generational strategy you can't predict completely accurately what will appreciate in value and have to try a shotgun strategy where you pick up anything that may appreciate. If you sell 50% now and your kid sells 50% you only have 25% of the original stack left, not a good number. If you sell a smaller portion like 20 or 25% your kids still have a good chunk of the stack left. Selling less than 50% means it lasts many more generations, much more more stable. Even if you COULD get more of things that will appreciate it's not worth it to get rid of everything that holds value right now.
>>29865050
Kids don't use them much anymore but I could see them resurging in the future maybe, or maybe not. They were definitely more fun than most children's toys and may age good like a lot of vintage anime stuff. Definitely considering picking up some cheap ones. Them breaking easy is also a plus since people would be breaking them, putting less in circulation.

Books are sensible but fall into the "danger" category.
>Take up space
>If you don't read or care about history they have no obvious value for you
Someone's wife might start bitching and throw a bunch of them out or sell them for no reason. They are also harder to keep in good condition and can't just be shoved in tupperware containers like cards. An effective way if you couldn't get the space for a library could be a watertight tote in the basement where it doesn't take up a lot of space. I'll be picking up any old books I see but they're a lot more risky and are bad space-wise.
It seems like a very good idea, with more controversial books being worth a lot more. An original copy of mein kampf, for example, is worth 200 dollars today despite practically everyone in germany having one at one point. A tote full of them would net a few thousands dollars only so it's not the best use of space but still better than nothing. Some of these more "bulky" items should probably be kept with the idea to sell them more often than the compact stuff that's easier to keep. Maybe have a part of the stash labeled "bulk" where bulky stuff is kept for less time to earn a quick buck and buy more stuff.

I wouldn't. $40/oz is too much for my liking. The added security also isn't worth it. Look up silver spot price and try to get the closest to it per oz. $26.70 is the spot I see atm.

Here. Random 1oz rounds for less than 32 bucks each.

I read "RCA record club" on all the club deals with great intro prices. They mail you stuff monthly and if you don't send it back in time, you own it, and for pricey. I put together a decent album set for a buck apiece when I was a kid, but it's kinda PITA having to send shit back every month for a year. This place it said you can cancel anytime, though?

sup nigger. know that 14k is approx 58.3% gold. 18k is 75% gold. try to get a good quality chain for as close to spot price as possible. ditch the diamonds, they're a bad investment. technology for lab-made diamonds is improving and will inevitably reduce the value of any diamonds you own.

You can buy books that already are old
The trick is to find genuine good books, especially works of philosophical importance may gain lots of value over time
The language dieing off is no reason the book would be valued less, on the contrary it becomes a beacon of history - same with changed language

>>29866135
If you think about stacking books you obviously have to appreciate a library in your home, just stacking them in cartons is not doing them justice
If you think about it literature is one of the first generational investments humans practiced
Conserving information has value in itself
Also books are really super long term, not for appreciating during your lifetime
If you made it and want to build a family estate just add a library and fill it over the time
It would also be compatible with homesales that seem to be a hobby for many stackers
If you like a book just buy it and keep it for future generations

i make money converting VHS tapes to digital. the problem with VHS tapes is that they slowly demagnetize over time. im sure there are a few gems that collectors would like to own just for the fuck of it, but eventually, the audio/video will disappear.

Only problem is your kids kids kids will have to bag hold stamps for hundreds of years until some autist likes one out of the whole set. Not saying it wont work its just that there is an opportunity cost to everything. While your kids were bagholding stamps it might turn out that plastic Japanese cartoon statues are the next big thing.

I'm gonna be clearing out some space to make a little personal library now, sounds like a great idea. I don't have enough space to make a full-fledged one but a little personal one sounds great. A family library sounds like a good long term goal, the only problem is that 99% of women HATE books and would like to burn down your collection to clear up a tiny bit of space. Will probably aim to pick up any political books for cheap even if I don't personally like the writer.
