But that's the problem, the difference between humans and chimps is way bigger than a single percentage. Only 25% of human and chimp proteins are the same, and when it comes to genome sequencing the results aren't much better. That's not including things like gene function which we know can be vastly different even when looking at the same gene. For instance FOXP3 controls many more functions related to brain development in humans than in other primates who have a nearly identical version of it.

how are people feeling about the ten year yield rn? looking back at my portfolio over the past month, its really clear that I should have exited most of my holdings into cash the moment the 10 year yield bounced back up from 1% and definitely should have exited them when it broke through 1.2%, but that fucking massive candle spike to 1.614% today got me shook as fuck and I finally sold out of everything and went 100% cash going into the weekend. I either sold the bottom, or if we see the 10 year yield bounce off the 1.4-1.5% range again and start trending upward or start spiking like fucking crazy like that 1.6% spike, I sold out right before most of my holdings fall off an absolute fucking cliff.

im normally a never panic sell and buy the dip guy but when I saw that spike to 1.6% i freaked the fuck out real fast. if we see the ten year yield drop back below 1.4% i'm going to re-enter some of those positions cautiously and if we drop down below 1.2% again I'm going back to raging bull mode but from where I was looking at it looked like either I sell now and miss out on some gains on the recovery if it happens or I hold and risk taking a fucking massive loss (considering most of my positions are leveraged) maybe even blowing up my whole account if spikes like that keep happening.

I have dealt with the effect of lockdowns, yes. People will put up with it to "stop the spread". I agree that people are getting fed up, but they're creating imaginary new variations to keep people afraid. Fear is how they control people. Liberals and Conservatives both placate boomers, who are afraid of losing their empire of dirt, and they're convincing everyone to get a vaccine, wear two masks, and stay lockdown. Maybe I'm too cynical, but life is better when you expect the worst

I don't think we're crashing. There just aren't enough market-wide, broader elements that indicate that we should. Any argument you can muster at this moment could've easily been made at any point last year after we began spiking. The yield has been the biggest worry to the market, but that appears to be stabilizing and in itself is not sufficient a catalyst. What's happening now is the necessary correction everyone and their grandmother spoke of from Nov-Jan. I don't see anyone being deeply surprised of what's going on, we're going to crab in March, I strongly believe, and then continue mooning but at a more moderate pace. There's too much capital circulating and we're coming out stronger out of COVID. And by "we" I mean people with money in the market and with SAH/digital jobs rich people in general, poor people are getting fucking shafted even harder for the next three years or so.

No risk no reward, but with SOXL there's less chance of it crashing because the semi sector is so integral to both tech and crypto. So it goes up way way more than it goes down, which leaves it less vulnerable to volatility decay. But yes there are potential scenarios where it could die, it would just require a very big Black Swan.

I'm beyond trying to pin down precisely what is happening and just look for the simplest model that I can find that correlates to what is happening. I started buying in late may/early june and never really slowed down. the very fucking moment the 10 year yield crossed 1% then came back down and bounced back up off of 1%, is the day I started to lose and I haven't stopped losing since that happened basically, few wins here and there on some swing trades and options but my long term holding in my portfolio have just fucking bled non-stop since that point. so when I then see the yield cross 1.4% which is it's historical level of support/resistance, i'm panicked. not only am I panicked I'm in this fucking market bought up to the gills and levered as fuck, and been bleeding out for a month. I see the spike to 1.6%? fuck everything I'm out.

we are currently in a massive semis shortage to the point where dementia joe is offering billions of dollars of subsidies to solve the problem
this is nothing but bullish news for semis in general and i believe it is not priced in as they should have continued to run pretty hard
right now it's just being dragged down by broad market selling stoked by fears of rising bond yields, and maybe a market that's too hot and needed to let off some steam.
semiconductors are the lifeblood of tech, and covid created many tech-consuming habits in normies they may not have had before; another bullish indicator. as society continues to grow and advance, semis will continue to be crucial in that process.
therefore, i'm all in.

An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is a big fund that can be traded like a stock, giving investors and traders access to an entire sector on one ticker. SOXX is an ETF that holds shares of Taiwan Semiconductors, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, AMD, as well as some smaller firms. SOXL simply amplifies the SOXX 3x using loans and other financial instruments.

ive been talking about this in a couple posts, the past month or so I've been just holding, holding, holding, buying some dips, thinking every day is the bottom, but when I saw the 10 year spike today I said fuck it and noped out of the market into cash real quick. really fucking quick. im OK with selling with reduced gains or realizing some losses, and buying back in quickly if signs of a recovery show, but I'm not the type to fly right over a fucking cliff because I refuse to ever sell at a loss

bonds are getting sold off super fucking hard, treasury note yields are inversely correlated to bonds. the last time bonds got dumped this fucking hard was the moment the coronavirus pandemic crashed the market. when bonds are getting dumped it's generally a bad sign because the reason bond holders would sell those bonds in such volume is out of fear the bonds default. when companies right now are paying LESS dividends on average than the fucking government is willing to pay to borrow....... these companies are fucking dead in the water.

You need to find something in life to go crazy about, it has to drive you absolutely insane to the point where you'd do anything to either have it or approach it. You need to lie to yourself, you need delusions of grandeur. Pray, to whatever, talk to yourself, talk to people like you have nothing to lose and picture yourself as the center of the universe.

Once you make it, you work in reverse and learn humility and appreciate your shortcomings. Don't be afraid to lose, everything is valuable. Everything.

Im a little disappointed that CRSR dipped as hard as it did but I appreciate the opportunity to grab more under 40.

look at the fundamentals. do your DD. I think it's going to rise hard right up to 60 soon. Their business model is simple and their leadership is solid. I like it.

The fact that they are starting to purchase more companies now and play with their tech is something I really like. I like any stock where I have to seriously debate with myself if I am purchasing it to reach a price target or if I am purchasing the stock for an indefinite hold/investment towards the future.

>why is it under 40 currently?

Cause they IPO'd in the fall and the bull run has been so hard that I think they were overlooked for more volatile stocks with a higher potential to moon. BTC has also been a crazy active place to keep your money. There is also a looming stock lockup expiring at the end of march.

you got fucked because cathie is the biggest bull the market has seen in years and when things take a bearish turn, which could be temporarily, but which I'm really fucking cautious about right now, it's investors like her who get fucked the absolute hardest.

before you invest with anyone you need to know their gameplan and cathie is the most hyper aggro maniac the market has seen in years. and betting with her may well pay off fucking hard. i've seen poker players like cathie before, their style is to just go balls to the walls every fucking hand and either lose everything or bust everyone else at the table. which is basically what cathie will do. she will either outperform every other fund manager so fucking hard that they get destroyed by redemptions from investors looking to join cathie's funds or she will blow up her own fund all by herself. because her strategy is really pretty simple. bet big very early on pretty speculative names and then just continue to buy all the way if they start to rise and then once they hit a certain point where other investors would take a profit you just never fucking sell and buy every dip from then on to eternity. either cathie is going to end up the biggest/one of the biggest stakeholders in the biggest companies on the planet and be the permanent king of wall street because she's literally destroyed everyone else or she's going to be the cause of her own demise because the only thing she knows how to do is buy investments that are green and just keep buying and keep buying and keep buying and never sell. which is a strategy that works really well until it doesn't, if it doesn't.

the way to play ark funds IMO if you want to play them is with 1 or 2 year LEAPS a decent ways out of the money and consider that money GONE until the expiry, don't even check your position. because with cathie it's either to the stratosphere or straight into the fucking ground.
