Daily basis? Slowly. Yearly? Keeps passing faster. I'm 20 and 2020 went by like nothing for me. After I hit 16 time started to go by much quicker. Waging 8 hours a day is the cause for me.
I just want to make it so I can quit this insufferable lifestyle

“When the time comes, then, that you see the ‘abomination of desolation’ prophesied by Daniel ‘standing in the sacred place' then is the time for those in Judea to escape to the hills. A man on his house-top must not waste time going into his house to collect anything; a man at work in the fields must not go back home to fetch his clothes. Alas for the pregnant, alas for those with tiny babies at that time! Pray God that you may not have to make your escape in the winter or on the Sabbath day, for then there will be great misery, such as has never happened from the beginning of the world until now, and will never happen again! Yes, if those days had not been cut short no human being would survive. But for the sake of God’s people those days are to be shortened.

Your brain stores 'new' experiences in your memory better than the average day. When you're a kid/teen, you're constantly experiencing new things which make you remember things clearer and makes the days seem longer. If you lived your 18-20 years just doing the same shit everyday it will seem like it went fast. Best remedy is to go out of your comfort zone and get new experiences every day.

Eventually it all fell apart for them and now a lot of them are back home with their parents or renting together and working random jobs. We play vidya together, go hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping etc together and drink beers around the fire. I was so lonely before but things are happier now and I bet my friends are happier themselves without all the pressure of 'being somebody' weighing down on them. This is how life is supposed to fucking be. Having good times with my childhood friends and just living naturally. the world has changed dramatically. you can't have my life, which is a bit sad tbqh. you have to look at the landscape of the times you are living in and take advantage. being here and trying to become financially independent off of emerging monetary realities is a very, very good idea. there was no such thing when I was 21.

Ultimately, the era you live in is going to be tumultuous and nothing like the previous decades. You should be most concerned with finding a place and creating a future. Most western cultures are ruined and the decay is reaching a critical point. Identify a place and a people that aren't buying into the modern lie and go have as many children as you can. That will give you the best possible life for the times you live in.

Listen to this guy. Always be growing, learning, expanding. When you get an idea, pursue it. That is what fills your life and makes you into an interesting person - it also keeps you young. People who get "old" are people who become stagnant, and what you find as you age is that most people are cowards who just sort of stop in life at some point and stay stagnant in that place until outside forces change things.

To be in control of your life you have to be in control of your SELF. Have the courage to do things that are possible - each time you get an idea and enact it you gain confidence and that carries you into the next adventure. I'm 41 and just did something the past three weeks that most 22 year old's would never attempt - too bad for them. I can do these things because for the past 25 years I've taken action on ideas and now I believe in myself because I know what I can do.

It's not elite but I felt very alienated at school because I picked up a ton of information online that none of my peers could relate to. Most of them were running around playing Naruto like you. This led to a bit of superiority complex but at the end of the day I'm not a super smart guy. I just love talking to people online and learning from them.

I have the luxury of hindsight here. There were probably four or five women that come to mind that I really liked, and who I missed out on having a relationship with. Looking back now, it's easy to see that it was for the best. They weren't who I thought they were, and they didn't become who i would have wanted them to become. Most things in life that don't work out are like that - learn to accept that what is meant to be happens and when things don't work out and you are disappointed it's usually because you aren't seeing things clearly. As time moves on you'll be able to look back and you'll understand.

Above all, to be successful in life you need to understand who you are, what you are good at, how you do things, how you are different from other people. You have to understand where you come from, because you WILL end up reflecting your parents and lineage. If you pay attention, you can reflect the good parts but if you try and run from that you'll end up reflecting them without even knowing it. I have watched with my own eyes as young, fun, exciting and interesting people morphed over a few years time into their lame parents.

Use your youth to pursue the things that make your heart and your mind feel inspired. If you are successful, you'll find that you are very satisfied later in life and are happy to change gears and be more settled. When I was 20 I had dreams and a vision for the sort of things I'd love to be able to do, and I did basically all of them, and more. In essence, I completed my list of goals and now I'm free to make new ones. I look at most of my peers and doubt they feel the same way. Whatever they did with that time was mostly pretending, faking, and trying to be someone else. In the end, you are who you are, so focus on figuring that out and becoming the best possible version of it. You'll never go wrong if you follow that route.

That's the truth my friend. Life has been much comfier since I started perusing my goals and not societies goals for me, even if some of them coincide. I dunno if you know who the tripfag BaconRider is but he's like a hero to me because he's out there every day doing what he wants. Nobody ever told him to do what he's doing. He does it for himself because it's true to himself. That's how I want to be.

ubironically the anime i was mentioning earlier did the exact that
The main character Naruto always stayed true to himself and pursued his dream of becoming hokage(the village leader) and obviously at the end of the day succeeded

also there is a rule in 48 laws of power saying that you need to choose what you want to be
you are the main character in this world(for yourself) so act like it
if you don't choose for yourself than someone will choose for you

being true to yourself is the easiest way to live - your path becomes the one that best fits you.

people around 20 right now are lucky because most of the bullshit that people my age were wasting their time with is so completely destroyed now that pursuing your own path is really the only good option.

life is simple: there are things you want to see and do in your life at some point. put yourself in a position to see and do those things. also, learn to live in the moment. that means recognizing what is right in front of you. when you can do that, opportunities become obvious. always wanted to see Rome and find yourself nearby? GO TO FUCKING ROME. you don't know if you'll ever have the chance again.

do that with everything, as much as possible. it's as simple as learning how to recognize what you really /want/ and having the courage to give yourself what you want. everyone else is irrelevant. when you start walking in a direction with your head up and eyes open, others will turn up along the same path. those are your people.

39, nothing went wrong with me. The world went really wrong though. The late 80's up until before 9/11 was really a sweet spot. I couldn't have imagined the far future of 2021 would be this insane shit with masks, lockdowns, social media and the idiotic PC culture, what a fucking mess.

I kinda feel sorry for young people having to grow up with this bullshit. Reading here because it's amusing just like Yahoo chat rooms were amusing in 1997.

This is how it will feel when you are 30, 40, 50...
If you make it to old age, you'll still feel like it was just yesterday.

Faster with each passing moment. Doors closing with each day. Your capability to achieve diminishing. Those are the facts of life. Better get to it if you don't want to be an old miserable fuck that failed everything. Just don't choose to be a slave.

25 year old here. Feels like it was just yesterday I was 18 and starting in college. I want a family some day, but fuck I don't want to start one soon. At least I can always get some younger chick when I'm ready to. I'd cut my left nut off to be 18 again just entering college. Anyways to keep this /biz/ relevant my net worth has gone from about $70k at 18 (yes it was inheritance faggots) to $500k at 25. I'm in med school right now and won't mind putting in my time working because it's what I'm in school for, but if I make it by 40-45 I'm hanging up the stethoscope to spend time with my family. Life's too fucking short, and you only get one.

My friend is playing Halo Master Chief Collection and getting all nostalgic for his childhood favourite game series. I never played Halo because I always just had Nintendos. If I played Halo now as he encourages me to it would be as an adult revisiting childhood memories that never were - childhood experiences that I could of had, but didn't. That timeline is closed to be now.
I used to wrap myself up in the comforting blanket of potential. That I was young and infinity lay before me.
Now I'm not so young.
My childhood is over
