The growth was a result of mean reversion, that’s how rate of change works.

>covid happens
>stocks go down, growth down (gold went up first half of covid btw)

gold/silver/platinum have a ton of applications on the industrial side of things, which give them value. for example, silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any metal in existence, that makes it incredibly useful in the modern world. if it was 10x as plentiful, it would be used even more widely. the price would be lower, due to being less scarce, but it would be just as useful.

bitcoin has no applications, it's a ledger entry in a public database, much closer in properties to a central bank ledger entry than a physical metal.

BTC looks to be flagging down, now in the first impulse of another rising wedge formation. Even if we ignore the market events going on right now in the bigger markets, it looks like the steam has run out on this run for now and BTC is correcting. Overlay the broader market issues and it could correct further than it would have otherwise. Whether people want to admit it or not, one of the things that was making corporate treasurers consider BTC for their balance sheet was due to yields. Once they start rising, then the conversation changes. Go back to that tweet from Elon about the negative real yields. Now, we know that real yields are even more steeply negative than the official numbers, but corporates go with the official. We'll see how this plays out and if it impedes adoption at this time.

There are many more ounces of paper gold and silver than there are physical ounces. Many of the bars sitting in COMEX or LBMA or even in trust have multiple claims against them. If I can just "create" paper gold and silver out of thin air with derivatives like futures contracts and sell them into the market, I can drive the price down easily, even if supply of physical against demand would warrant a much higher price. Go look at JPM's history of metals manipulations. It's not conspiracy, it's news They paid a billion dollar fine last year for spoofing and have had several of their traders indicted. It was so egregious that even the friendly CFTC had to step in.

At the end of the day, 2020 had record deliveries and 2021 is even more extreme. There is a global rush to grab as much physical metal as possible at as low of a manipulated price as possible and to use the low price to unwind as much of these derivative plays as possible to reach Basel III compliance. Gold is going to be a full fledged tier 1 asset for central banks as of June 28, meaning it is on par with US treasuries.

Anyone getting spooked on metals due to paper price is getting jewed out of their opportunity to accumulate physical metals before price goes apeshit in the coming years. DO WHAT THEY DO.

Because what people want is yield. They don't want to hold the government's shitcoin. Only retards and poor people hoard cash.
Also institutional investors are given cash by people to INVEST, not to sit on it. They literally can't sit on $ because people would simply withdraw the money from their funds. You don't need a hedge fund or a mutual fund to do the same thing that you can do while charging you a fee. The system is built on money being invested, not hoarded.

The second reason is that in absolutely every economic scenario there are assets that will offer you a yield. (I already posted the pic). If you hold all types of assets, money will just move from one type to another. Some will go down, but others will rise. Sure there are periods where institutional investors sit in cash, but this is extremely temporary while they plan the next move. That's when normies shit themselves and sell like retards while the sharks and whales wait for the opportunity to buy cheaper.

Some of these regulations are Jan 1, 2022, but the gold reclass and revaluation is set by Basel III at June 28. That's when central banks can move gold from tier 3 to tier 1 and instead of only being able to recognize 50% of its fair value on their balance sheet, they can recognize 100%. For decades, they have only been able to recognize 50% for reserves, which is why many central banks sold their gold or leased it out to put treasuries and other assets in their reserves that they could benefit from the full value of. Now, many will be calling in their leased gold and have been busy buying it over the last few years. You've probably come across stories of China and Russia buying up gold over the years, they were ahead of the curve toward de-deollarization. But with Basel III, it put all central banks in that market to get as much as they could in a short period of time. That's really when the gold bull market started back in 2019.

I'm not saying that gold and silver are going to moon June 28. They could. But what I'm saying is that we are transitioning to a new paradigm as the Bretton Woods II system of dollar reserve currency status is coming to its end. It may be orderly or disorderly. It may be 2021 or 2024. There is much that can happen, but we are for sure moving in that direction. So I am positioning for that, because the dollar will not handle this change well, even if it's an orderly transition. Ultimately, I'd rather be buying the same thing the central banks are buying, because they have a hand in what is to come and I will do as they do, not what they say.

And to reiterate, it's like any country that may have price control ceilings on items. You find these items harder to find or always out of stock. The paper price is basically acting as a price ceiling on gold and silver and at this time it is causing inventory to dry up as no one wants to part with it at spot. We can still get it in the US, but variety of inventory is much less than before nd premiums much higher. The physical market is picking up and the price ceiling no longer even closely resembles what the real price is. Governments are getting what they want, because they always do, but the average person is getting locked out. That's what happens in very distorted markets of all kinds with rice controls and the fact that gold and silver are following in that model should tell everyone that this market is heavily manipulated.

Yes there is the possibility that they will switch back to some kind of gold backed currency or even gold backed cryptocurrency.

But what do you think happens with the gold you own? It will just get nearly worthless over night. They will just forbid gold ownership globally and you will either be forces to give it away for a predefined price, which of course will be way less than you expect.
You could hide it for sure but they will certainly come looking for it, like the Nazis did already.
History repeats itself. Ownership of gold in higher amounts than jewellies was already forbidden in many countries and for many decades.

The only way money gets destroyed is when the Fed is selling assets that it previously bought. In no other scenario money gets destroyed in the regular economy. Even when you pay a bank loan back, the money that you initially borrowed is out there in the economy and when you repay the banks, their reserves will increase and they will simply give other loans to someone else.

If there's money to be made in commodities and bonds, money will move there. Stocks can tell lies, but Bonds don't. Bond yields rising, is the market calling Powell's bluff. Mass defaults on SOVEREIGN DEBT. This little bunny hill we just had this week already skullfucked the turkish Lira and the Rand, more to follow. When most debt is tied, one way or another the the US rates, raising rates is a ice bucket challenge on steroids for Emerging markets, who got gangraped this week, worse since March 2020 , and triggers everybody to raise rates to keep their little shit currencies usable. Powell is saying "no fucking way", the Bond market is saying "oh yes siray". Besides, US rates also make the framework under private loans operate. Your credit card debt, your car loan, your mortgage. Raising rates would put a lot of folks under the bridge rn. And Powell keeps saying that until he gets full employment, he's not budging. That's a toss up.

Whenever you see everyone panicking, talking about selling, just do the opposite. Inflation is a concern if not handled properly in the future, but it is not an immediate risk. There is a psychological component to inflation risk, yes, but /pol/ is by no means close to representing the mindset of the majority and average person.

TLDR invest in Bitcoin, some PMs. Stocks are safe for at least another 1-2 years absent something truly mind breaking

Nope. Raising rates would hurt the Democrat base (think Housing Crash 2.0). Not going to happen. If the banks keep dumping bonds, then JPOW will shut down Wells Fargo and force BofA to sell to Citi.

Trips of truth. He will. Our politics are based on next election cycle, not long term benefit. Also, those corporations are politicians’ real constituents who fund their campaigns and pay them large speaking fees. So when presented with a choice of saving the dollar or saving the zombies and regulating any lost asset values, he’ll choose the latter. Besides, nation debt to gdp is over 130% now and will be 140% EOY. There’s no fiscal solution out of this debt without debasement. Bretton Woods II is an old man and ready to die.
