I recently spent 2 months unemployed and had such an itch in my soul that I was lifting heavy for 2 hours at a time and running 5 miles non stop. I think I could do 20 if I really wanted to

If you ever venture into the piano here are my resources:

first thing i read on the matter when i embarked, good advice:
https://fundamentals-of-piano-practice.readthedocs.io/

worth reading some of even if you never even play piano:
https://fdocuments.in/document/heinrich-neuhaus-the-art-of-piano-playing.html

a compilation of practices from all over:
https://doku.pub/documents/le-piano-de-marguerite-long-6oq1eee48502

great teacher:
https://www.youtube.com/user/aw4piano

worth watching, especially the part about memorization
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eru9FDvUfz4

for tackling bach inventions
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=2714.0

music theory:
https://www.musictheory.net/lessons

I tried Banjo first, could mess around but kinda sucked ass and stopped. Picked up piano at like 22, had a lot of time and was really really motivated. Learning music theory really is super essential and honestly you can pick up any instrument and play if you know it. I could learn banjo a lot easier if I wanted to, now that i know more about the fundamentals of music-making. If you try guitar first, and learn theory, you'd probably be good but I personally found it really difficult and having a keyboard laid out like it is just makes a lot more sense to my mind.

Don't underestimate what a giant headache really learning an instrument can be though, especially with theory is it takes a lot of mental concentration. Anyone can do it though, really. You just have to stick to it, keep doing it, keep finding it interesting, be eager to learn, learn how to practice, study, etc etc.

I just bought a Hohner wooden recorder for like $30 because i've been listening to medieval music, and that's easy to learn too, very portable, very fun.

it is not unreasonable to assume that, given the current trajectory of technological development, plus the general consensus among voting populations that society is a tool designed to meet their base needs, that we could reach a point where our machines are responsible for building and maintaining other machines, and the human labor force is relegated to routine troubleshooting. Right now, humans outpace machines in context sensitive circumstances, but that doesn't mean TPTB won't simply allow for more context specific circumstances to mitigate the limitations of machine infrastructure.

I'm not denying that in the slightest. The covid circus has been a compliance test in multiple directions. It didn't just reveal exactly how much of the population will comply with nonsense regulation. Now we have seen exactly how many people can be comfortably removed from the labor pool before negative effects outweigh the benefits. The next step is legislating "anyone who wants a job can have one" where jobs will largely be feel good busy work.

How much automation needs to be achieved to supply all NEETs with chicken tendies and a room in which to play vidya games? Yo that’s made to be interpreted easily. But if you’re a wagie like me you’d understand. I think most of my jobs and anyone within my social circle job can be dramatically improved on efficiency by machines and AI. Thus we’re really doing the fertility tasks while surviving. I think technology improved too little and too slow because we have too much inertia.

And it makes me mad that everyone thinks if we don’t work wagie jobs we’d be drunk and do useless shits all day. They fail to understand people actually grow up. After years of playing games and doing useless shits in my life, I actually regret I didn’t learn more stuff. I have a lot interest to many things like I’m young. But now I don’t get that chance anymore because I’m stuck in the working class. If we have machines replaced human work force, we will have freewill and free choices
