I just learned about this yesterday and it struck me as one of the stupidest fucking things since the tulip bubble. If I understand it correctly it's a digital collectable, like those funko pop figurines or beanie babies or baseball cards, except it literally doesn't exist in the physical world. I almost can't fathom the level of consumer stupidity that would be necessary for someone to want such a thing. I think collectables are usually dumb too, but at least they're real and if you're a giant fag and want a boba fett on your desk then whatever, it's your desk. But if you tell me that you personally own a digital representation of a boba fett that is rare and collectible and very valuable my reply would be "that's just a picture of boba fett, I could get that anywhere for free"
