The concepts of poor and rich only exist in comparison with others: The definition of truly being poor depends on who you compare with. To the majority of the world population everyone on this thread is considered rich, we have devices and time to hang around on an image board and have access to knowledge. It’s in peoples nature to want to have at least the same (but preferably a better) standard of living as their neighbours and closest social circle. Some people are just wired that way that they want to have more than everyone and will never be happy; you get the lambo and next day, you see another rich guy with a yacht and so on. People in third world have just have a limited worldview that the concept of having a premium car is so far off that they have other priorities. some guy there might be one of the happiest guys in the world just because he has the most goats in his area. That said, I don’t know if I’m really happy but I don’t feel driven by the need to show off and don’t feel less than when I see that a friend has a nicer car or watch than me
