First big move was swapping half my link (quarter of entire stack) to ETH to pool in uniswap.

From there I followed the rest of the market into SushiSwap. Made a fuck ton in there. It dominoed into other platforms and at the end of it I swapped everything back into link. But had I held all my Sushi I'd have made $150k USD just from that alone.

That is so impossibly stupid, but it seems in line what what I read, Bitcoin is seen as a "commodity," so they are treating the transaction as though you are "all but" exchanging bitcoin for cash, then buying the other coin for cash.

Why don't they treat dollar bills as commodities? This is getting very silly, they're just trying to steal from people.

I mean using a bot to rack up tons of DEX transactions. Not even to make a profit either just send a massive transaction history to the CRA. Now that L2 (xDAI, loopring, etc) solutions are coming out someone might be able to do this with 1k on a metamask wallet.

never heard of it. Why would a currency be digital? However these tokenised SOFTWARE protocols are pretty cool PRODUCTS to own, and once I've had my use with these COMMODOTIES, I enjoy selling them to other tech enthusiasts at several-folds higher price then what i payed for them. Just don't forget to factor in your taxes for the sale of GOODS & SERVICES

At the end of the day, I personally just want to distance myself from CAD as much as possible because I don't have any faith in the government. The TFSA is probably a smart move though, unless they decide to implement some new crypto regulations or whatever.

just pay the tax on the 200k
only 50% of that is taxable and the tax rate is like 20%
so 20% of 100k is 20k
20k out of 200k is not so bad, only a 10% tax

There wouldn't be the issue of going through all your transactions to figure out your gains/losses, nor distinguishing between business income or capital gains - if it's converted from crypto to fiat it's a capital gain plain and simple.
