Robinhood had a liquidity issue, which is usually the worst thing that can happen to a broker/bank. You know how when you ACH money to your account it takes a couple days? Same thing happens with executing trades, it has to go through clearing houses to exchange the funds but the broker will have reserve to fun the customer immediately while they wait for the executed trades to fund.
