I work for a bank whose name I won’t disclose. You fools. You have no idea what you’re doing. No idea how serious this is. This isn't a simple get rich quick scheme. If there’s a short squeeze on silver, all the banks will fail. Every single one. Eight of them are short silver and they would have to pay trillions to cover shorts if silver got to triple digits. The entire financial system will be destroyed if you do this. Silver is to the banks what GME is to Melvin Capital. Is this what you want to happen when we’re in the middle of a pandemic? If the banks fall apart you will wipe out every single person who is holding dollars. What the hell is wrong with you. America will be destroyed. If you do this, don't think that we won't take away your silver just as we disabled your manipulated short squeeze stocks you unAmerican traitors. You've been warned.

If you're looking for a shorter-term or lower-risk payoff, direct your cash to mid-cap producers like AG or Kinross. Buy Large-cap like Barrick or Pan-Am if you want less volatility in pricing.

just buy both. Miners carry extra risk for many reasons compared to the underlying asset. They can outperform but they can also underperform. If you are bullish on metals it's good to get at least some physical because there is no counterparty risk and you will benefit from the bull market. With miners it's not that straightforward especially considering junior miners.

In the extreme case mines could be nationalized but you can also imagine less extreme situations where it's good to have the metal itself. For example we could see a situation where the costs of mining start going up significantly due to inflation and the rise in silver price is offset by this cost increase. This would lead to a case where the metal has appreciated but miner margins would have remained unchanged or even went negative. It's maybe not super probable but you can see what I mean.

Miners act as leverage to the underlying asset. Imagine if it cost $5 to mine silver and silver was $10. The miners have a $5 profit. But if silver price decreases 50% to $5, the miner's profit goes to 0 since it still costs $5 to mine--ergo, the profit decreased double the rate silver fell.

Yeah you can make good money with miners because leverage is one hell of a drug... but leverage works both ways. This is why I don't recommend miners to people who aren't risk tolerant or have the patience to wait 3-10 years for their investments to really pay off.

Jurisdictional diversification in your mining portfolio or watchlist is really important in order to circumvent possible nationalization of your mining companies. I’m aware of miners In at least 16 different countries. Are all of them going to soar to the moon During the bull market? Probably not, but it’s good to be aware of mining companies outside of North America and South America. If a couple countries start to nationalize, then try to move your capital to other jurisdictions where nationalization is less likely. The time to research different mining companies in many different countries is now.

Yep I'm personally very aware of the political risks and agree with you completely. I think it's really one of the most important things when building a miner portfolio is to look for geographical diversification for mitigation of political risk. It's hard in silver tho, since so many silver miners are located in Mexico. But that's why I really like Dolly Varden and Silver One for example, because they are outside of Mexico. Also Irving resources is very interesting play being located in Japan although it's more a gold play than a silver play.

Here is, in my novice opinion, a compelling portfolio that is supremely de-risked in terms of jurisdictional diversification. However, many of these companies are microcaps, explorers, or drill- or permit-pending (ie. extremely risky). But in terms of spreading your capital literally all over the world, here is one way to do it:

Dolly Varden (Canada), Bayhorse (USA), Vangold (Mexico), Boab Metals (Australia), Irving Resources (Japan), Tinka Resources (Peru), Silver Sands (Argentina), Silvercorp Metals (China), Silver Bear (Russia), Adriatic Metals (Serbia), Kingsgate Consolidated (Chile), Orvana Minerals (Spain), Azarga Metals (Russia).

All these companies are risky and some have complaints about management. Research thoroughly before investing.

'yield' is a measurement of how profitable a bond is at its current price.

yield, literally, is a verb meaning to 'produce or provide'. so think of it as simply ROI.

if the yields on bonds are high, their returns are higher. and as they are (typically) considered a safer financial instrument than any other, investors would prefer high yielding bonds that any bullshit massively overvalued meme stocks and real estate currently available today.

so if yields rise, capital flight flees to bonds, crashing everything else.

hope i've explained this right, if any experts want to step in please do.

Basically except the reason yields go up is because bonds are designed so that if people don't like bonds and see them as risky the yields go up to attract buyers. If bonds are seen as safe because they have high yields, more people buy them and the yield goes down so as to drive out more buyers. This is supposed to be how interest rates on loans are established through free market activity, but nowadays the fed buys bonds until we've been in a multidecade bond bull market. They no longer have any correlation to reality and their yields are very low

ok i think i get it. yields might be high because the market sees them as risky but as the market sees them as less risky they big up the price of the bonds thus decreasing the yields

does the free market for bonds actually determine interest rates? i have NO idea how interest rates are actually set.

>> No.29665294

>>29663422
Bonds are the other way around, high yields indicate that less people are willing to buy at the actual price.
Say you bought a $100 treasury bond with a 1% rate, government pays you $1 as interest. Now you go to sell that bond, but no one wants to buy it at $100 as no one trust that US will be able to deliver or low trust in the market. So you start lowering the price, and finally manage to sell it for $50. The new owner will still get $1, which is an effective 2% rate.

This is one MTB’s directors commenting directly on the CEO.CA chat page:

“@renebernard wow, nobody saw this coming. I am aware that several geologists looked @ the core and didn’t spot the absence of silver minerals. There were even samples from the previous high grade drill core which looked identical. I am not trying to make excuses. I feel for our faithful and dedicated shareholders who lost a great amount of their hard earned money today. I have a lot of empathy as we took a 2MM dollar paper loss ourselves. We have been a large shareholder of this company for over 10 years and have seen ups and downs. We are staying committed and take comfort in our large land position in the Golden Triangle and our numerous projects from grassroots to more advanced such as the “Red Cliff” and “BA” properties.Even the “American Creek” property stays highly prospective as the known high grade silver strike is still in place. Some have noticed the insider trades by our family of recent. None of these trades were based on any inside information. We abstained from any trading once we received notice of assays arriving. However ,our recent selling was consistent with historic patterns and helped us to cover the cost of recent private placements. My father ,who was a large shareholder passed away recently and part of the selling was also to cover capital gain estate taxes due at the end of April. I hope this share is not received in bad taste. We will rebound from this setback and I want to thank all the stakeholders for their continued support”

He seems sincere so honestly this is bullish to me.

Why there are so many inflation deniers?
Mainstream economists and and youtube gurus are pushing deflation meme. Even people here on /biz/ push it.
But looking at rising prices they seem to be complete wrong.
>minimum wage rising
>price of agricultural commodities wheat corn rice etc. rising
>price of industrial metal rising
>price of PMS rising
>price of stock and cryptos rising
>price of real estate rising
>store prices rising
And governments don't care they print and emit zero yield bonds.
In Yuropoor shithole that I live government is actively cooking the books. They transferred debt to semi government entities like banks and funds and claim it isn't national debt. They also claim that they have lower inflation and debt/GDP ratio than that calculated by Eurostat. These cretins also predict record economic growth.

The good thing is that you can look at past bull markets to see how high these stocks can go. First majestic for example went to fifty bucks last time.

Only thing is though with all of the economic troubles heading our way, how big will this boom be and how long will it stay around? Will people realize once and for all that fist printing is garbage and gold and silver have real true value? That's what I'm betting on.

I could look at my portfolio for an hour making chess moves to sell shares from one company to buy another, but the problem is that now I like and believe in every single one of my companies so you do reach a point where you’re just needlessly rearranging things and driving yourself crazy.

Because that .01-.02 can be 10-20% of a junior miner company's value, and watching your account fluctuate by hundreds or thousands of dollars can be stomach turning to some people.

Personally, I'm hoping it goes down farther so I can buy back in lower.

Bars and rounds, yes. Coins are constitutionally protected (although that didn't stop Daddy Government from seizing them in 1933) and JEWelry is exempt due to sentimental value.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about metals, you crypto cuck? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in /pmg/ Boating Club, and I've been involved in numerous junk silver purchases, and I have over 300 confirmed ounces. I am trained in the mining sector and I'm the top panner in the entire Canadian jurisdiction. You are nothing to me but just another sheep. I will keep stacking with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with shilling that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of mining & macroeconomy insiders across the USA and the price of PM's is going up right now so you better prepare for the hyper-inflation, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking financially ruined, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can stack gold and silver in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in the glorious art of stacking, but I have access to the entire Sprott mining stock portfolio and I will use it to its full extent to secure my financial stability in the coming bull market, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution society's rampant debt leveraging was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have invested in fucking precious metals. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. The Fed will print money all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking ruined, kiddo.
