the catch is that they don't allow people who would just hire a manager to be franchise owners. They are super strict with their selection process. If you open a Chick Fil A franchise, you are expected to work your butt off.

They are expanding but selective about who they allow to have a franchise. Last franchise in my area was awarded to a big church guy. Plus you can't just open one, you have to commit to three locations in the area you are given. Plus you will need to relocate once you are sold/awarded your territory. Good luck.
