started with 20k 4 years ago. Dumped about 90k total of my own earned money over the years. Had some wild swings due to inexperience in 2018 and 2020 due to my massive NVDA positions, but ultimately have over 400% returns to show for. Tastyworks for options/futures and coinbase pro.

5 minute charts are for short term scalps on positions i already have. Right now i have massive gold position that is kind of dangerous so ive been hedging with gold contracts every night.

Everyone is different. My own experience comes from trial and error. Massive losses. Have your skin in the game for long enough, follow the indices long enough, see how all the markets move in relation to one another, spx/nas/gold/oil/10 year/vix/btc etc, and you will slowly learn a 6th sense.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do as well. If I trust it to go up, I just put sell order to +10% and wait. On shorter time scale I usually wait for swift movements and then buu/sell, but that is just gambling so far.

Do you use leverage? I am trying to figure out strategy on that. If I had $1000 I could have 10 $100 bets. With 10x leverage I would need to hit 10% rise to make $1000. That means I would need to hit 1/10 of my positions to stay even if 9 other fail and get liquidated.

Mu question is if that is realistic by any means? Also Coinbase Pro is actually pretty expensive, have you considered Binance/FTX?

Hard to say for sure. Using Coinbase Pro is a good hint though. Maybe I'm just too hopeful and successful traders just simply do not exist.

>> No.29636959

Using leverage for single directional trades should be done with small portions of ones account, and is often best left for use as a hedge. You will likely lose your 1k quickly with your strategy. I was on binance many years ago and shifted over to coinbase pro for security reasons as my account was getting too large for me to trust with a china man.

I'm sure they do, but consider for a moment: why would any of them post here?
I had a phase where I daytraded with smaller amounts, using roughly 25% of my total capital per trade, often swift scalps, i.e. riding ETH down to $1500 a few days ago. Why so many people fuck this up (me included)? You get too greedy. I was averaging a 2-4% return daily which is more than excellent if you think in the long term, but of course I wanted that 10x NOW so I lost my money gambling on BSC shitcoins and leveraged futures.
When I get my next paycheck I'll stick to the good, short-term trades. As much as it's become a meme to say but you absolutely need to set and stick to a trading strategy or else you'll bog yourself.

>why would any of them post here?

Let me extrapolate that and suddenly we have an answer:
>why would anyone post here?

But yeah, I have been grinding 1%-2% on my shorter trades as well, seems like the fluctuation is more controllable that way.

Then again, I have managed quite a few good buys but all of them have been long hold positions which I have not realizded... I have difficulties in selling. Well, taxes obviously.

>>29636959

Yeah, sorry for slight provocation :D I moved my holdings to Coinbase as well, same reasons. But then again, Binance trading is about 5 times cheaper so it made more sense to practice trading there.

For both of you:

>have you checked FTX platform

My advice for you is to never trade again. Put away some money periodically in spx/ndx/silver/eth. Heed my advice or remain a dirt poor fag for life. >>29637752

Thats not something i would concern myself with in regards to crypto. The only sensible option right now is if you bullsih, you should be adding on every dip. If i was forced to put my money on it, i think btc will go to maybe 46-42k before further bullish movement.
