But on the other hand the sale of the mobile phone unit to microsoft happened in 2013 (8 years ago), which is basically where Nokia the dying phone company ceased to exist and nokia as we know it today was born. The purchase of alcatel-lucent happened in 2015 (6 years ago) and that went way less smoothly than originally anticipated. There's now a new CEO with a good track record who's been there for just over 6 months and they've heavily invested in R&D for the past few years. It's not a ticket to moon and their success isn't guaranteed but I believe they can become a solid dividend paying company for your average boomer portfolio

Bought 70 shares at $5. In the next few years there 5G will bump them to avg $5 and from there I’ll decide to either sell my bags or stay. No reason to sell at a loss in his case. It (hopefully) organically go to the $5-$7 range next time. Also nice seeing some NOKbros in here.

Literally been wheeling and trading spreads on this stock for months now collecting premiums since it crabs really well. Lost on some potential gains when it meme pumped, but all and all shit has mainly just given me premiums for a relatively low margin maintenance. Are there better stocks to do this? Definitely. But honestly it's just gotten the job done for me. As many pointed out, it looks like it'll become a nice dividend paying boomer stock. I think they might do a thing or two on the 5G space, especially if anti-China trends continue, but it won't be anything to write home about.

Seeing how they push cross-platform gaming development between xbox and pc, they could have easily turn Nokia into gaming phones. That shit could literally become a Nintendo Switch with phone calls and instagram.

Just imagine all those native ports from xbox (especially 360) on your Nokia gaming phone running in something like 720p or 480p or whatever that phone can maintain. Yeah, it's not a pc-tier performance, but Switch is also not a superior device in terms of performance.

As always, Microsoft is lightning years ahead of the planet, and too cucked to take the risk. Now Apple is doing literally the same shit - with unified OS, apps and hardware across all of their devices. This is literally what UWP was all about.

Honestly Microsoft infuriates me. They clearly have great people in the company that can see far into the future of how things could be, but fail at materialising products at some point in the production line and then they just give up or are content with mediocrity. A one stop ecosystem with gaming, media, phone and PC integration was achievable, they had the right idea, but the execution has been so piss poor that they just fumbled it dramatically. Kinect was a failure, Windows phone was a failure, Holo/AR lenses are not looking super hot, etc... At least I'm optimistic about their services transitions. And I think Xbox has the potential to become the market leader of the console game, especially with their all inclusive deals and their studio acquisitions.
