Alright i finally figured out how the IL protection works in v2.1. That FUD anon is a complete retard.
In short, when you stake the token side of a Bancor pool, the protocol mints new BNT and pour it into the pool as a co-investment so it’s taking some profit from the fees as well. However the protocol itself does not swallow this part of profit but instead it will be used as an insurance to cover the IL for liquidity providers. If the insurance is not enough to compensate the IL only then the protocol will give BNT for liquidity providers when they are unstaking.

IL is coverable by the insurance at this stage. Even in the FUD anon hypothetic doomsday scenario it still beats genderswap and other DEX because the IL protection is 0% for those places. At worst you are just getting diluted BNT but Bancor itself still has its competitive advantages.

Realistically we should hit somewhere in the 30-60 range this year. There is no reason why we shouldn't, especially considering that Uniswap hit 30 and is basically like a shitty useless version of BNT.

What /biz/ did not realize is the current TVL of Bancor is also counting the protocol minted BNTs. It sounds like kikes being kikes but it might actually be a good thing. The real locked-in value is more like in the 60% ballpark which means Bancor actually has more space to grow than other DEXes.

I think if Chainlink fixes Ethereum's gas issues (OCR, Arbitrum) OR Ethereum solves their own problems (unlikely) then yeah. No way BNT doesn't go straight past $100 if either of those things happen this year.

>> No.29542466

>>29542274
Yes this is exactly what I’ve been thinking. One of the downside of this v2.1 design it that people will get raped hard by the gas fee due to the complexity of the contract.

Wrong. That's exactly how poor faggots have to gamble in order to make it. I literally threw in all the cash I had on hand at the start of the new year. I know not to buy high and sell low and so far that has been working out pretty great for me. Just survived my first $3500 "loss." A month ago, I barely had $1000.

thats the whole point of liquidity mining I thought
shifting the BNT to actual users out of the protocol
eventually the protocol won't have any extra tokens and will only be minting/burning as needed with liquidity being user owned/DAO governed

I didn't . That's why I said "loss." It just hurt seeing my portfolio almost break into 5 figures and then it dropped almost 30% in a day. I still had a net profit, and I had no intention of selling, but it still hurt to see.
