i notice the transfer speed slows down when doing big numbers over 10k but i think that is just the exchanges that slow it down and not algorand or the wallet. the exchanges just move larger amounts of money slower.

We don't even need to go that far for value increases. The thing holding Algo back is the accelerated vetting process. The system is designed to be "anti-pump and dump." If the high water mark exceeds the 30 day rolling average, more algos will be pumped into circulation. Since the beginning of February, demand has been so high that 600M+ algos has been injected into the system. The good news is that the system was supposed to hold a reserve until 2024 but the demand has made it so the reserve could only last until 2023 and possibly sooner if demand continued to stay strong. There is current over 4B algos in circulation out of the 10B and 3.5B was reserved for the vetting, of which about 1.5B has been injected. We're actually approaching lift off way ahead of schedule.
