Right now maintaining a XRP wallet requires that wallet to hold a minimum of 20 XRP. In the event that XRP does somehow end up in the 4 figure range you need to buy and hold a minimum of $20k worth before you can buy your first freely tradable coin. That 20 XRP minimum isn't hardcoded, either. If they want to keep it out of the plebs hands the minimum could just as easily be set to 1000 XRP. This mechanic makes XRP one of the few cryptos that actually CAN price out investors.
