Yes to both. Coinbase lost about $15,000 of my money and it took a week to get back next time maybe I wont be so lucky so there wont be a next time for me. Used coinbase from 2013-2021. Victim of its own success....the platform cant scale.

Sometimes it goes down when there's high traffic, but so does binance.
They've never fucked me so i have no reason to change or use something else.
Fees aren't bad on pro and you can do instant deposits.

In the early days you had to enable API access to use their app. There was some exploit and people started having their accounts drained and purchases made by people doing something with their app on android and either guessing api keys or getting access somehow. Back then no exchange had 'permissions' for API keys, it was just full permissions no whitelisting. They swept it under the rug, probably affected a couple hundred people. They regularly get hacked like all exchanges and just hide it.

I've seen it happen on multiple exchanges when there are massive drop offs it isn't just coinbase. Most people complaining are idiots bag holding and they go to panic sell at the worst time and cant execute the order so they start to reeeee even harder. Any half decent trader doesn't wait for these moments to make the move. I got hacked yesterday morning around this time.

Guy withdrew like 10k Ren after the dip and and was spam buying eth and Ren. Luckily my buy limit was but he was spamming it for 5-10$ buts until I noticed.
I paniced went to secruity and tried kicking him off and changing my PW. Somehow he got into my Gmail, made a brand account, downloaded authenticator . No doubt while I'm being screen shared so my shit is constantly lagging and refreshing while I'm trying to change options/not going through. Finally I had no choice but to call coinbase and freeze my account. They froze it an hour later not sure how much he could have taken that time.

I went to my bank and later bought a cloud USB and that helped me get my Gmail back but it was a bitch. This fucker made an identical email address as mine and set up my autofill so I would log in it, among a bunch of other things.

So now at least 120k is locked in my account . What happens next?

No major problems on my end aside from it crashing when the price massively increases and in particular when it crashes. Coinbase Pro on my phone likes to freeze up when using the website at times. Not swing or day trading (tried day trading, got emotional and wrecked). Had them since Dec. 2017.

I don't deal with darknet stuff either. Use F2A with my Google Authentication app on my phone.

Haven't withdrawn to my bank, but have sent money to and from other exchanges along with to and from wallets.

My use is buying crypto when paid regardless of price, so not too worried. I still keep cash in my bank in case of an emergency, so not worried about needing to access funds immediately.

I just verified my account and it will let me receive but not send shit.

All my buys say "you can send instantly". When I was new they got held for 4-5 days while the transaction cleared. As your bank acc gets more reliable the transfers clear quicker.

I havent had any problems but they do make you wait 14 days to access funds after a deposit. They let you have instant access for trading which is awesome but if you sell and want to cash out or if you want to send your crypto off site then you have to wait for those funds to clear with them even if its been cleared from your bank already. So I dont know if theyre retarded and didnt read or if it actually fucked them over. Im in the US and dont know other platforms to onramp fiat. I'm going to try cashapp but they are verifying my ID.

The only real issue they have is high volume causing their site to lock up. Also they have a tendency to lie in their market rating. On the top of their prices page, they'll give you an overview of whether the market is up or down. Every coin for the past 48 hours has been down around 12-30% across the board. But they say the market is only down 0.6%. I can't help but think that the intentionally manipulate data to give a rosy picture of the crypto market, and that they intentionally lock up their site to stem the tide of panic selling.
