What causes these crashes? I guess I kinda thought some whale dumps Huuuuge bag and then avalanche effect. But that doesn’t really make sense. Can some one explain to me like a retard how the whole market drops so quickly?

its less everyone thinking that at the same time more people are already spooked. They look at price and see a 1% drop and panic sell, then someone else sees the 1.5% drop and panic sells. This then causes it to hit stop losses and the feedback continues.

It is triggered by simply having lots of sellers and not enough buyers in a time. The price dips and a whale decides to dump before it dips more. Another whale does the same and price drops more. Now some retail starts to panic sell. Some bots join in based on the rapid movement. Now other people start to panic. Another whale dumps. It snowballs.

In the long run, this will be nothing of great significance.

Generals herd mentality amplified by shorters and newfags who never been to the rodeo before.

The same thing without the shorters are what is going to make it pump again. If you did research and believe in your longs, you should be able to ride it out.

FYI: I stopped buying after btc rose to 48k because I saw where it was going. I was tempted to dump, and probably should have - but fomo'd on the thought of Elon making another tweet or two, and some of my alts had announcements coming down the pipe.

The market was being funded by leveraged loans, the cost of money was too high which limits new capital. The sell pressure is too great from everyone taking profits and the price starts to tumble.
The longs need to be eaten then the market can start again. A portion of them have now disappeared.

>> No.29446842

OP, forget everyone else and read this post:
>>29445897

Everyone saying anything else is a complete and utter drooling retard and should self-castrate. Bots bots bots bots. 80-95% of trading is done by bots. They are basically a massive force multiplier, and this also explains why every single crypto asset moves more or less at the same time in the same direction. Fun fact: you often times DON'T see dumps and pumps reflected in tiny microcap shitcoins, because their volume is often too small for people to run them.

What this means is that you don't need everyone to panic sell at the same time, you just need a small handful of whales to decide (usually by coincidence, occasionally intentionally) to dump right around the same time. The bots all work by algorithms and data analysis of the price action, so when you get a massive bull run like we have been having all the indicators start lining up, then a handful of people dump, it makes some meme lines cross, which in turn triggers other people's bots to dump, which in turn sets off a cascade of even more bots dumping and stop losses triggering. Then on top of that people start panic selling, but actual human interaction here is much much less than you might think.

you forgot arbitrage bots anon, it's simple
BTC/USD = 50k
SHIT/BTC = 0.5
SHIT/USD = 25k
so far so good
BTC/USD = 40k
what does this mean for SHIT?
It means if I have 1 BTC, I can get more for going through SHIT than the normal route
1BTC = 2 shit = 50k USD
this inevitably dumps SHIT's value in USD, but should theoretically keep its BTC value the same
BUT
the missing variable is that there are also many humans AND bots that are already holding SHIT before this operation happens
you can figure out the rest

Dumps are only one half of the equation. Every trade requires two sides, a buyer and a seller. It doesn't matter if asset holders want to dump, if there's no one on the other side of the transaction that's willing to pay then the trade never executes. When prices goes down it simply represents an outflow of cash leaving the asset, while prices going up represents cash flowing into the asset.
