the hype comes from what rbc is actually attempting to do, namely cross chain swaps, anonymity, L2, and limit orders (actual limit orders, not just some gay order book like 1inch).

so basically, the idea for the end goal use case would be: say you have 100 LINK and 0 BNB, and want to sell half your LINK for BNB. you set a limit buy on the rubic exchange and go to bed, and in the morning if the price hit the target, your order will have filled, anonymously, with basically 0 gas fees
