>monitor altcoin prices
>wait until one spikes by 2% in a minute
>buy it
>sell it later when it rises 20%

what's wrong with this idea?

you don't know when/if it will go back

the capital required to make a sizable profit might not be an amount you're willing to part with

It's not as easy as it looks.

you have no idea when a pump gets dumped, if it keeps going you wish you held if it ends pre maturely you wish you sold

all this is true, i was thinking sell more at 5% gain or 10% gain. i've been burned by trying to manually ride pumps. also place an order to sell if it drops 5% from my initial buying.

i only have like $200 worth of BTC so i don't have much to loose.

Seems like a decent strategy. Cut out the very low volume coins though since they might rise when only one person does a big purchase and won;t increase any further. I would also sell again at 10 to 15% in the start of this strategy.

But how are you going to keep track of the coins that spike 2% in a minute? Got a good tool for it? Can it be done with Coinigy or something?

This works if you're willing to wait a few days for gains instead of make immediate gains, and stick to volatile but dependable coins, which is to say, Bitcoin and ETH only. If either of those drop a couple of percent, buy at the dip: they'll be back. It may be in hours, days, or sometimes weeks. But so far they're a very safe bet to always recoup any fall.

I was going to create my own tool, Coinmarketcap and Bittrex both have accessible tickers, so just hit that every minute, compare.

>days, or sometimes weeks
ain't no one got the time for that
