I think it would be hilarious if the retards paying absurd amounts of money for these things had the rug pulled overnight and they realized they paid $50,000 for a fucking piece of paper the size of a palm

I bought 6 60 packs and 4 10 packs. Currently, you can sell a 60 pack for $100 right now on the marketplace probably in about 5 minutes. The 10 packs are going for $22 and they’re moving up. The RYU BUILD card is going for anywhere from $22 -38$ and if you get low numbers (hundreds or if you have one that’s teens ) that shit will net you $1k plus in the next couple days. The Collectors Editions are all going for hundreds of dollars and again, if you have a low number card - it’s thousand plus, and it’s actually selling. It’s kind of fun and addicting too. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wax get Nintendo (and Pokémon) or Marvel or another big license here soon.

Top shot could just switch to being a backdoor casino where they print booster packs of tokens and then buy them back at less than the expected value.

But yes, that's a risk of centralization. At the moment it's just a crypto with a different value proposition.

It probably even skirts the new tax laws against crypto currency. It's not a currency, it's a collectible. Taxible like any other income, but without the reporting requirement (in theory, no idea if this is true)

There is something psychological about something you can hold in your hand. Almost every collectible that has truly blown up has not only been something small enough to hold, but is intended to be held in a hand. Coins and cards are the big ones; their core function involved holding the item in your hand.

Even beanie babies worked this way; their small size and bean pellet filling have them a certain feel. Same story with pogs and marbles; in order to utilize them as intended you hold them in your hands. Dolls had existed for a very long time and weren't very collectible, but barbie dolls were handheld. Matchbox made diecast cars in the 50s, and original models were bigger than handheld size, display pieces more than anything. Hot wheels on the other hand were not only hand sized, but hand sized for small children, leading them to get nostalgic when they get older.

I know that's a lot of words for one idea, but I really want to hammer home this point. It's a VERY consistent pattern. It's why transformers outpaced all the other action figures short of barbie; the level of manipulation by hand during normal operation.

Don't expect anything that doesn't meet this criteria to pop off. Pikabellechu bought her Pikachu VW Beetle for like 5k, which was market value. The ears and tail had been removed; not only were the ears and tail not something that gave the car a premium, it actively diminished its value.

Hands are just psychologically important. Lord knows that I would much rather squeeze a titty than just look at one, and it's even more psychological gratifying than puting my dick between them.

You are naive if you think they is the use case. BTC is 70% the market and is completely useless as a currency. It will never be able to scale and the fees are already outrageous. 70% of the money isn't going to bitcoin because of its value proposition.

You don't need to wait on these cards to have utility one day, they have utility now. They transfer faster and cheaper than anything else on the market, and they aren't subject to the same swings in price that come from having millions of a token available for people to pump and dump.

At the end of the day, if you can't see why a crypto token with represented by a cultural icon has meaningful value when compared to a crypto token represented by a number then you are beyond salvage. DOGE is a crypto token represented by the metaphysical concept of an internet meme embossed on a coin; it's relevant entirely because of the cultural context, even though it was literally designed to be a joke coin poking fun at cryptocurrency as a whole.

70K users that have bought and sold, and they're partnered with NBA.

They have every incentive not to rug pull makes no sense, ya it could go up and down but pretty sure it's going to keep consistently growing else I would of sold everything I had.

Holding my current 180 moments until I have 3 - 5M.

Well it's gonna cost me like $3k to do the cool cats challenge. That's quite a lot of me to lose so I'm not sure if I can stomach it. I'll have to think about this.

One thing I'm concerned about it that once normal NBA fans start getting in they will just release a bunch of cheap moments and nobody will ever care about the expensive moments other than a couple random autists.
