this is a great question, and I think I know why. I hold a lot of OGN, but I think the reason for the lack of moon, so far, has been due to the large supply of OGN. Currently the circulating supply is not itself that large, but the planned future releases of tokens are great. Because new tokens are released each month, the supply constantly increases which I think in the past has tended to keep the price down. However the team has since introduced measures to limit supply. Locking up your OGN tokens for staking is one such way. Another way they are reducing supply is by using yields from OUSD farming to buy back OGN.

That being said, I hold a lot of OGN and I'm a big believer in it. This team has been working on OGN since 2016 or 2017. They're in this for the long haul and are seeking to create a truly revolutionary online blockchain based censorship resistant ecosystem. If they succeed and it gains traction, this could have massive ramifications that go beyond cryptocurrency. If Origin Protocol actually becomes successful then I don't think $10 per token is out of the question, but it is somewhat of a big risk right now. At the very least I can see it re-touching previous ATH in satoshi value, which would be about a 5-7x from current levels. There's really no reason this can't happen.

Anyway, I've been holding for almost a year now so I've researched this to the best of my ability. Probably would've been better for me to sell last summer, but as of right now I can't sell because I think we are 100% approaching new all time highs

I think OGN has a high possibility of becoming the main cryptocurrency that people actually use and hold for online transactions. Elon clearly wants Doge to have that function while BTC remains a gold-like store of value investment.

If people are ever going to use and adopt cryptocurrency in the future they're going to want it to be like real currency. No one wants to buy coffee with bitcoin and pay .0000000001 btc for a coffee. Similarly, no one would want to pay 500 doge. People want a currency that is somewhere between $1 and $10 and truthfully I think that's where OGN's value lies. I don't think it'll ever be a $100 token (though anything is possible), but I definitely think it will go over a dollar, and possibly up to 10 bucks depending on future success of origin protocol

alright, since we actually have a good Origin thread going, I wanted to bring up the elephant in the room. Whenever I check the order book on binance, there are always way way more sell orders than buy orders, by about 5 times. It's been like this for as long as I can remember, although whenever OGN pumps the buy orders increase to almost half as many sell orders.

Now, I know that looking at depth charts is really kind of pointless, because these orders can be changed at any time, and often there are arbitrary "sell walls" and "buy walls" set up. And yet I can't help but think this is the issue with OGN.

There seem to always be whales willing to dump. Some people think it's bot-trading, others that there are whales who accumulated early, but for whatever reason there always seems to be this intense sell pressure. Does anyone here know why this happens, or any way it can be prevented?

Worse, I feel that this issue provides a bad image to the token, and some people end up thinking it's just a PnD shitcoin.
