Mutual funds are generally bad unless you cant into stocks at all. Mutual funds tend to have large costs. Etfs on the other hand have lower expenses but you have to msnage your money with etfs. Etfs also generally track a sector/group of stocks which can give you better exposure. VTI is slowest but consistent growth since it tracks entire market. VOO tracks just the S&P. Similar growth potential. Then you can add thinks like sector etfs like XOM for oil or stuff like SOXX for semiconductors

Looks like you're using a combo of Fib retracement and Fib extensions. It's based on the idea that the Fibonacci sequence and Golden Ratio are prevalent patterns in nature, so the lines should indicate levels of support and resistance. The price should in theory bounce between Fib lines until it gathers enough momentum to break through. It helps you set your buy/sell limits. It could be argued that there's so many fuckin lines that the price is bound to reverse at one of them.

I like to use Fib retracement set to closing price and remove the 50% since it's not a proper Fibonacci number.
