I mean, using BTC the standard way is more like a savings account, and the ligthning network would be the spending account. Costs a bit to transfer money to/from it from time, but than you can have 100s of fast and cheap transactions in the meantime. Though, I'm rooting for increasing the blocksize some time in the future so those transactions to/from the lightning network would be shorter and cheaper.
