That surprises me. My experience is that boomers mostly don't take it very seriously (despite supposedly being the most at-risk group) and it's the younger generations who are most enthusiastic about getting in the pods and eating the bugs. I interpreted it as an extension of boomer selfishness, like they don't really care if lockdowns are the 'right' thing to do or not, but they certainly aren't going to bother doing anything that changes their existing comfy lifestyle. I've even had a few sharper boomers say that this kind of reaction would have been unthinkable in their day. This is in Europe, btw. Maybe it's different in the US.
