If it's an obscure coin like this then it can be done in a big lump a few days before.

If it's a larger one (a bit like the XRP pump a few weeks back) then you'll see smaller purchases of high volumes spread over a few days in the run up.

It's like me seeing a coin that's worth 1, buying enough to make it naturally look like 4, telling people to pump it and then bailing out at 6 or 7.

It's the only way to ensure that capital injection on the day from the bag-holders who lose out because they don't do 30 secs DD when the pump notification goes out.

The XRP one was the best I've seen to be fair.
