Looking forward to swinging by my local McDonalds sandwich shop later today. I enjoy a meal from McDonalds every time LINK hits a new ATH in USD. I usually order a #1 Big Mac meal with a large fry and a coke to honor Sergey. I also add an additional McChicken for Vitalik and a McDouble for Satoshi. Reason I can't find myself celebrating is because while link has been making solid steady gains ever since the trend reversal at the beginning of the year, the bubble last summer to 20 dollars will always haunt me. So I can't help but always compare it to that. Like when link hit 30 bucks, all I could think was "okay great, we're up 3x in a month... but that's only up 50% from the summer"

Right now we're still just getting back on track. I hope link has its day again where it actually steals the show rather than just being dragged up with the market.

I have little over $1 million in disposable money, already have two houses paid off, convince me to put a good portion of it into link.

I'm not so sure about that. Whenever people as a whole start to realize that BTC is a surefire long-term bet, that's what really triggers the FOMO. That's what causes people to not even care about buying at ridiculously high prices, because "worst case scenario I just have to wait 3 years for it to break the old ATH again". But when everyone does this, it causes a positive feedback loop that pumps the price higher and higher and higher, until the point where doubt starts to set in, and people start to reconsider whether or not BTC can ever reach its current price point again.

Just look at 2017 and the subsequent bear market. Even in 2020, there were tons of people who were sure that BTC would never ever reach 20k ever again, and that it would just keep having lower highers from there on until eventually flatlining. I personally think BTC will balloon further than many people realize because of this sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.

It is possible that we have seriously diminished returns, but if the returns do diminish and we only get to a measly 100k, for instance, then that will certainly mean the collapse won't be nearly as bad either. Actually, whether the top is 100k or 300k, I think the floor for the 2022-2024 bear market will be in the 30k-50k range.
