quick search shows that you need to report all asset transactions, gain or loss (or even):
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/do-i-have-to-report-capital-losses/00/37002

>Any capital asset sales create a taxable event. You must report all sales and determine gain or loss. Do not fail to do that. The IRS gets a copy of the 1099-B that will report the sales to you. If you do not report it, then you can expect to get a notice from the IRS declaring the entire proceeds to be a short term gain and including a bill for taxes, penalties, and interest. You really don't want to go there. Report the sale based on the 1099-B that you will get.

Food for thought. In 1919 silver was around $18 at it's peak. So for 2 ounces your at $36. 2 ounces of silver today is about $60. In 1919, $40 invested in Coca-Cola would net you $394,500 in 2020.

Coca-Cola is worth more than silver.

Yes really. By what metric is this graph measuring inflation? The Dow Jones has tripled since 2011, yet silver is worth less now than it was then. Physical Supply and Demand for silver has not changed at all. Demand is on an upswing right now, try to buy some silver at your local pawn shop.

I recommend looking up how the price of silver is actually determined, friend. It's all done on future trades. Banks and industry both have an interest in keeping silver cheap. Banks intentionally flood the market with worthless futures contracts to make supply seem way more demand, and industry does not fuck with it because they want to keep their profits. Third party investors are now trying to get into silver and they literally can't because the physical supply isn't there to cover futures, industry, and private investors.

Production has been decreasing the last few years, governments don't hoard any of it anymore so they can't bail companies out if the price rockets, and demand has nowhere to go but up because it's massively used in the industry for EVs, batteries, electronics..etc. Besides recycling silver is not profitable at all, so they just buy it new.

The squeeze comes from the physical market. Everythingg is sold out everywhere, mints are saying t hey can't get 1000oz bars to melt. Some traders have said that 1000oz bar premiums are through the roof due to sheer demand.

This means that people are going to be standing for delivery at the COMEX because they can make more money trading the physical metal than trading the paper positions. When enough people stand for delivery, it is likely the COMEX will have to force majeur because it doesn't have enough metal. This is what leads to the price exploding once the paper market is no longer trusted.

The GME shortsqueeze was about the stock in GME. The silver short squeeze is specifically about PHYSICAL silver.

We're not telling anyone to go 100% precious metals.
Your opportunity cost is enormous and you're hating on people because you bought the top like a faggot and thinking precious metals act like stocks.

I own precious metals not in the hopes that they'll skyrocket one day and I can sell them at a ridiculously high price, but in the hopes of saving my fucking money from inflation and being able to sell it at the next market crash to buy oversold stocks.

I don't think it'll ever "collapse." it'll probably just become gradually more worthless until it silently crosses the threshold of negative worth, meaning cost-of-living adjustments will fall gradually behind inflation until every gentile is a ward of the state.

What are these rankings for? Post collapse? Or when metals skyrocket? Or roughly historic levels of wealth? Help

>I've just never heard of mining as a trade nor have I ever seen nor heard of technical schools offering such courses

Thats because for a long time while the industry was in the gutter the need for such training was low, now all of a sudden we have a bunch of projects in need of this training and no one to do it. The earlier large scale underground mines like Brucejack took the existing trained miners and now finding anyone else is apparently nearly impossible.

I own 1 copper stonk, Copper Mountain, it's my biggest % gain. I shilled it a little 2 months ago when I found it and it was still around $1.15 but nobody other than Pan Man commented on it. I'm thinking I might have another one that will double in Galleon Gold

Surely they got in your ass a few times first about hauling it to the recycling center? Dick move if they didn't. Your fault if they did.

Snagged some Galleon for cheap. What do you think about Copper Mountain going forward?
