/biz/, It has just occurred to me that what separates $100 from $1,000,000 is only four 10x's.
One 10x is ~3.32 2x's. It's basic hs maths, as log base 2 of 10 is approximately 3.32.
Multiply that by 4, and you get ~13.29, the number of 2x's that you need in order to turn $100 into $1M.
Thirteen 2x shitcoins, and you're a millionaire. Just like that.

Oh shit, so you're saying that if I go to the casino and just put $100 on black and win 13 times in a row going all-in every time, I'm a millionaire? Holy shit, brb.

it has anon, i don't think you realize how many people have made it. I'd estimate that atleast 5% of this board has made it.

Obviously, this calculation is giving an idealised picture. You would have to be incredibly lucky to streak four 10xs in a row.
Plus I am not taking fees and taxes into account.

Most of its from luck though, if it was so easy to predict whats going to 10x then everyone would have done it already.

it's not just thirteen 2x shitcoins though, that's just a 2x
it's a 2x followed by another 2x on that first doubling and so on over 13 times
the amount of $100 bets that you would lose doing this would bankrupt you before you hit a million, even if you start with hundreds of thousands

>> No.29142293

>>29140857
What about the loses accrued from spreading your money too thin? Let's say you have $1k, pick 10 altcoins hoping 1 moons and let's say 1 does moon. You're back at $1k.

I'll also add, more run red than green. Placing your bets like this isn't smart if you're looking to moonshot. Place the $1k on who you think is most likely to moonshot and if it goes under, get another $1k to moonshot, then repeat.

This is why you'll find that people with true crypto wealth rarely fuck with shit coins. I've hit 3 10+xs on an initial investment of 20k over the last 5 years. Swings get the rope and end up paying way too much I'm taxes. Buy blue chips and hold for at least a year.

I disagree, I don't think it's luck. There's a lot of people here who have gotten really good at tuning into what is going to moon.

people here are way too obsessed with reaching the point of having 'made it'
having money in crypto already guarantees that you will keep getting richer, don't waste your life minmaxing your investments

how does a rug factor into your equation?

Seems to me that anything capible of a 10x has about a 50% chance of being rugged

Meh, all you need to do is spend some months glued to your computer whenever there's a bull run and you can make it, freeing you from having to wagecuck. Wagecucking is the real waste of life.

my calculation does not account for that factor. It would be interesting to lay out the maths though.
If we assume that a shitcoin can go to 0 with 50% probabitliy, and go 10x otherwise (no third possibility), and you have 100 bucks,
then you have a probability of 0.5^4 = 0.0625 = 6.25% of turning this one hundred into one million,
50% chance that you lose your $100 on your first attempt,
25% chance that you lose your $1000 on your second attempt,
12.5% chance that you lose your $10,000 on your third attempt,
and 6.25% chance that you lose your $100,000 on your fourth attempt.

Most people fomo into link knowing nothing about it. Very few on here knew nothing about what it was or where it was going. They could have just as easily picked a shit coin in 2017. Same goes for most other coins except maybe bitcoin and eth. But as far as im concerned most is from luck and few actually care or know about the project they invest in.

100% EGG, it has gone 5x in the scope of multiple days and still has quite some potential

oh, and statistically expected result in this game would be 0.0625*1M = 62500.0 bucks (from initial 100 investment) if you do not take into account the the loss of intermediate gains, such as 1K, 10K, 100K, but here we aim for the million, and for the million only
