I'm honestly curious what the demographics for biz are, is it overwhelmingly paid/discord tranny shills and bots or are most of these crypto recommendations from normal anons who are honestly trying to help eachother out?

The project I'm currently really excited about is GRT, for the anon with the IT background this one should make some sense for you.

For those of you that do not have a background in this stuff.

A popular FUD against graph is saying that the comparison to Google is a bullshit marketing shill. It's actually not. Google's product is not really the search engine, it's producing the large and well organized collection of data that it looks to when you run your search. They accomplish this by indexing the entire web using web crawlers (neat tech worth reading at least the top section of a Wiki article on). Indexing means that they are going through the entire internet and categorizing it. Imagine you have a cookbook and a chicken, and you want recipes for the chicken. Are you going to flip through each page and look for chicken recipes? No. You're going to consult the index at the back of the book. Building that index is what made Google what they are today.

Fast forward to Web 3.0, apps are moving to a decentralized architecture for the same reason Bitcoin is successful, it removes a central arbiter from control. Bitcoin means that the banks cant decide to erase your funds. Think about the analogy for this in whatever sector you'd like. Web 3.0 is an inevitability. What happens when you want to search it? The product providing the search will have to be a Web 3 app itself, otherwise, why trust it and defeat the purpose of Web 3 altogether? Enter Graph. Check out their material and see why I'm excited about it new frens.

Some questions then

How is the quality of data determined?
How do you query it?
How do you search for a particular niche of data? Using some sort of tags?
Is it going to be something similar to splunk/elasticsearch or am I missing it completely?

> How is the quality of data determined?
For context, the "APIs" that are available via graph are called subgraphs. An example of a subgraph would be 1inch providing a look
into their transactions. In some ways it is like ES since a subgraph is essentially a view projected onto a blockchain. So you define your own indexing criteria.
Kind of like choose your postgres indices to meet the needs of your access patterns

There are three types of GRT participant, Indexer, Curator, and Delegator

Indexer -> Serious operation, staking at least 100k GRT and running a node. It's non-trivial and
requires dev-ops chops. Your job is to take the subgraph and do the actual indexing it prescribes

Curator -> You stake against a subgraph, signaling to indexers that it is of high quality. The more curation stake the more confident an indexer can be that people will be using the subgraph.
Curators get returns in GRT based on query volume so they are incentivized to choose wisely.

Delegators -> A curator is to a subgraph as a delegator is to an indexer.

> How do you query it?
Unironically, GraphQL

> How do you search for a particular niche of data? Using some sort of tags?
See the subgraph explanation above, the primary user of this will be Apps with a particular use-case in mind. So they either find a perfect sub-graph or define their own.

> Is it going to be something similar to splunk/elasticsearch or am I missing it completely?
See above. It's essentially a platform for indexing blockchains. It is blockchain agnostic and I have a lot of faith in the team.
At this stage in the lang's lifecycle I don't see much bad Rust in prod lmao

Not him, but I personally doubt anything significant could be built upon it due to it being based on Bitcoin, a PoW consensus coin. Ethereum is paralyzed due to its super high gas fees that result from its current PoW system (hopefully soon to become PoS). It's likely that STX would incur similarly high gas fees if its usage were to grow.

That's the kicker, MOD is built to complement oracles like MOD and BAND rather than compete with them through aggregating and verifying their data. It wants to act as a cross-chain middleman between users(developers) and these oracles, at the same time enabling a free market of competitive oracle pricings. There's some more to it as well, but the concept sounds promising to me and the team behind it seems trustworthy due to how they're handling tokenomics and other factors.
