Bitcoin is good for gold and silver, Peter Schiff is so anti-bitcoin not because he is scared it will hurt his gold business but rather because he has hated on it for so long that he is no longer able to think critically about it. Even at a million dollars a coin he will still be calling bitcoin a scam simply due to his inability to admit he is wrong and reconsider his prior opinions.

question:
Is it worth owning non precious metals?
I know people buy copper bullion as its cheap, and still stores value like silver and gold, just alot less value/oz.
I was wondering- is it worth actually physically owning a bit of other metals? Tin, Bismuth, Indium, Ruthenium, Copper, Zinc, etc.
No metals are worthless, and I assume that they all hold value like silver and gold do, but they are just less rare, right?
Im building my own foundry/metal processing rig, is it worthwhile to process any non precious metals into pure bars?
Of course, I will probably do it anyway as it is still fun, regardless of whether its profitable or not.

>he will still be calling bitcoin a scam
Bitcoin is a scam. It is literally an asset built on pure hype. Pure fiat currency. Do not confuse buying BTC to make some money vs buying BTC to defy the oligarchs and preserve your wealth from confiscation schemes. Supply isn't controlled by governments, but neither is gold or silver and we all know our global master's suppress the value of metal via the CRIMEX. Once the big banks join in, it will only be a matter of time before a BTC COMEX forms. After that, BTC will lose all its secondary value as a medium exchange.

It's complicated. Industrial metals are supposed to be for if you expect economic growth and prosperity. Shit like copper. But you'd have to buy it in huge bulk for any hope of turning a profit. 1oz rounds you'd be paying like 1500% premium atm which is autistic. Other metals hold value if they're industrial or rare, but not quite in the same way that gold/silver do. If you stack zinc or some shit by the tons and hope to flip a profit one day when industry demands it, yeah it can theoretically be done. I wouldn't say it's worth it as I don't really see anything in the next 100 years where people would be scrambling to buy common metals from the common person. If you feel like it though, go for it. Just don't expect your tin can to double in value in 10 years.

It's digital money that is absolute scarce, no government can prevent you from spending it and it allows you to move any amount of value with you anywhere in the world.

I think bitcoin has been fantastic for gold and silver since it has introduced millions of people to Austrian economics and sound money. I once heard peter schiff lament that bitcoiners should be using their energies to push gold however I think that if bitcoin didn't exist at all these people probably wouldn't even have looked into precious metals at all.

Get on the rhenium bandwagon fren, I have 8 oz. Severely underpriced right now and if there's any increase in demand it will moon, if it doesn't moon you have a cool metal to give to your kids. Cheap entry too, roughly 1.50 a gram. The cheap stuff is sold out on amazon though so you have to find a different supplier. Some anon was indium posting for a while, might want to get some of that too.
I'm trying to get some of the most rare metals, ones that are rare but still cheap. Rhenium fit the bill and I have 500 grams of it now. Get the cheapest stuff from this list and go from there. https://www.911metallurgist.com/blog/the-worlds-10-most-precious-metals

Thanks fren. I spent a lot of time on ebay, betting and lowballing on everything. I'll give you a protip : all these deals got their auctions ending up either very early in the morning or very late in the night. This way you don't have hordes of boomers awake betting over you at the last minute and ending up at 'normal' price (ie $30+/oz).
Also no one speak english nor knows what reddit or even the coomex is in my backwater shithole, which is a huge advantage since it delayed a lot the hype around silver, at least on ebay, because LCS are scalping us even harder than over you in the US (cheapest i can find is $33/oz here, and we are VAT free on silver), and that's if you are lucky and they aren't completely sold out yet.

Whatever the free market values it at. I think it is valuable since it is digital, scarce and can basically ignore national boundaries. In the long run what matters is the GSBR gold silver bitcoin ratio. In the ultra long run 100-200 years new bitcoins created every year will be microscopic compared to the circulating supply whilst new gold and silver deposits will probably be found so I imagine that in centuries from now people will prefer bitcoin over precious metals. But in this century they are allies fighting against central bankers.

You can buy rhenium 1oz bars but they'll be stupidly overpriced. It's better to contact some industrial metal company, I got mine off exotech's amazon store which is sold out but you could probably call them directly and order some. They come in little shavings. Not sure if I got the best deal for indium but since I bought my rhenium from them I decided to pick up the indium at the same time.

Im the /k/ommando from the last thread making my first major purchases. Ive slowly been collecting silver and got one oz of gold at 1200 a few years back. I just bought 26 oz of silver at ~37 an oz after commission. I have about 5k USD to put into precious metals. I was thinking of getting two oz of gold, an oz of platinum, and then putting whatever I have left into silver, hopefully putting me up to 32 oz of silver. This would put me at 3 oz of gold, ~32 oz of silver, and one oz of platinum. Im definitely more into stonks and whatnot but wanted to stabilize some my income since the USD isnt exactly the pinnacle of stability right now I also wanted to take pictures of my gats next to gold and silver for the memes. In addition to this im planning on getting about one oz of silver every two weeks and one oz of gold per year just because I can deal with spending 70 dollars per month to slowly accumulate silver and assuming gold doesnt skyrocket I can afford to put aside 2k per year. Suggestions or advice?

- Rhenium - automobiles, aerospace, reasonably low price
- Ruthenium - electronics, aerospace, & medicine
- Silver - low cost, incoming COMEX default pump, many applications, widespread use

For gold and silver you have to have a centralized exchange that can secure the metal and deliver it around.

For bitcoin anyone can set up a exchange that buys and sells bitcoin since you don't need a global delivery system nor do you need a physical warehouse to store the bitcoin in. This makes it alot less practical to try and set up a comex style suppression like they have for gold and silver. Bitcoin is valuable, being able to cross borders with just the clothes on your back and take all your wealth with you without it being searched and confiscated by a government is valuable

Interdasting. I'd love to have a little position in others rare metals too. But so far i was really drove away by the ridiculous premiums most are carrying. How bad is the premium jew on rhenium and indium?

>rarest metals
The rarity calculated by presumed under ground concentration of each metal can be very deceiving. You have to factor in various elements who can greatly impact the price.
- For one, those rarer metals aren't actively sought after and aren't targeted by exploration teams. They were most likely found by chance in already existing uranium/zinc/whatever mining installation.
- They often only have 1 or 2 mining spots worldwide, and that's it. If another installation open up, it can easily double or triple the quantities mined every year.
- These are metals no one bothered to deal with before (too hard to melt, to access, no apparent use before the technologic era, etc..), which mean that even if the concentration in the earth crust is let say 1/100^100, the total reserves are still at 99% full. So even if silver for example is only 1/100^50, it's still most likely rarer since it have been actively mined for the past 5000 years, and the reserves left are let say 9%.

Imho the bigger risk to factor in is the opening of a new mine for these metals, which means the popularity can potentially play against them (or in their favor if we can't find any other spot in the world containing said metal).

Still, the rarepill have a huge potential desu, it's worth using some autism of our to determine what are the rare metals with the most potential industrially in the future, calculate how rare/difficult to recover they are and try to find the best one among them. Then we corner the fucking market.

Personally i'm very bullish on mercury, because for the longest time i was an UFOtard and every single mention of abductees the past 80 years who asked the ayyys how their anti-gravity stuff was working, they were answered the same thing every time :
>we are using mercury moving at very high speed in a circular fashion in a cylinder to create an electromagnetic field
So antigravity could be simply be creating a giant magnet.

What's even more interesting is the top-secret nazi-UFO projects, born from the VRIL (where a german hottie was a medium in contact with ayyy from andromeda and supposedly received telepathically/demonically plans to conceive anti-gravity UFOs) made several attempt at creating point zero energy and electromagnetic propulsion engines. And some may have functioned, like the Haunebu 1 & 2, the Reichsflugscheibe or Andromeda-Gerät.
But from what we know, even if it was successful to a certain extent, nazis lacked time and couldn't solve a big issue : the radiation from the high velocity mercury was liquefying the internal organs of the pilots and they died shortly after the essais.

Anyway, all the scientists on these top secret projects ended up being exfiltrated in the US via the operation paperclip, so if it was indeed functioning, chances are great most UFOs we see are from US black projects nowaday.

And last but not least : mercury have a lot of incredible properties, just like silver. And just like silver it have the exact same concentration in the earth crust!

Rhenium has a fairly low premium if you get it from an industrial supplier, if you buy it in bullion or anywhere else you get raped. You'll have to make some calls and order at least 500 grams at a time (maybe more) but then the premiums are pretty small. Indium, on the other hand, I picked up 500 grams at a pretty big premium just because I figured I might as well get in on a meme metal. If it moons that's still enough to make profit though.
Your point on mercury is pretty good, I think we haven't discovered everything we can do with it yet and thermometers / gold refining was just the tip of the iceberg. I need to find out where to get it for a low premium.

>When times are tough and SHTF, silver goes up.
Look at the graph. The gray bars are recessions. Notice that silver drops in every gray bar.
Silver price is driven by industrial use (bullion and investments are a small fraction of silver demand) and in a recession industry demand for silver goes down, hence prices go down.
Silver is more of an inflation hedge (higher economic output results in higher inflation and also higher silver use therefore higher silver prices, so there's a correlation), not a SHTF hedge. If things really go bad, then you'll want food, water, and ammo not some shiny rocks that people have to run multiple tests on just to make sure you're not passing off counterfeit silver.

That's just cope. There is inherent value in a decentralized autonomous worldwide payment system.
In a dollar crash how would you buy things online with just physical? The payment and ledge keeping aspect of crypto does have some value.

Its not like you can only choose one or the other, they're both different versions of the same concept.

Crypto market cap is so small compared to pms and stock market it has insane growth potential, this is the same reason silver makes bigger gains then gold.

You should own both any diversify,
I am so thankful I bought crypto instead of pms years ago, instead of static metal that csnt grow or shrink I risked it and got a speculative asset which has provided tremendous returns..
Just the other day I traded some btc at 34000 to silver and I'm already regretting it a bit, since I could get more silver for my money now.
Crypto and stocks can actually GROW your wealth instead of simply preserving it.
Idk why some people think they are agaisnst eachother and can only pick one, everyone who talks shit about and hates btc are just salty they didn't buy it when it was low.
You should never go all into anything.
My booker dad went all in gold like 10 years ago, hes gained probably 20-40% while I told him to get some btc when it was a few hundred, "nah son I don't trust it its a scam ill lose my money!" Now he absolutely wishes he bought some btc along with his gold.

coin grading relies on a fair amount of speculation and knowledge, i dont really know shit about some of the finer points but i know enough to dabble like my previous pic. theres alot of info online, generally you as a regular stacker will want to avoid it. im paying alot for something that wont appreciate for potentially 10 years.

I just can't get enough of Canadian silver dollars. The weight and size is great (the silver content also perfectly corresponds to the relevant denominations in a way that makes for easy figuring: a dollar has EXACTLY 6/10 oz. of silver, a half dollar 3/10, and so on).

Not only has the Royal Canadian Mint always been known for minting particularly sharp coins, but for some reason, Canadian silver dollars in great condition always seem to be cheaper and more affordable than their American or other counterparts. I don't know why, more for me I guess.

>Give me the spark note?
Some people collect coins. Like any collectible, the rarer something is, and the better the condition it's in, the more valuable it is to collectors. There are two main grading companies, PCGS and NGC, where you can send your coins in to be professionally graded, and put in a plastic case (aka "slabbed") with a bar code testifying to its authenticity. The coins you see in anon's post up there >>29105103
are simply regular Silver Eagles that someone has gone to the trouble of sending (and paying) PCGS to give a grade to. (There are reasons why these particular coins would be sent, like the "emergency issue" that makes it more rare, but that's beside the point)

You can look up the "population report" for these coins on PCGS's website that counts how many of any particular coin they've graded (obviously not the same as the # that exist in the wild, just the ones that PCGS has graded)
https://www.pcgs.com/pop/detail/silver-eagles-1986-date/939

For example, the middle coin there, a 2021 "first strike" (which is an APMEX term I think for one of the coins minted the first month or something) emergency issue San Francisco coin, which is here:
https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/2021-s-1-silver-eagle-t1-emergency-issue-struck-san-francisco-first-strike/838921

According to that, PCGS has graded exactly 5714 of those coins as MS70 (the best rating) and 3698 have gotten MS69 (one step below). The reason there are more 70s than 69s is that there's little value in a MS69 so generally people only send in the very best coins.

So in that case you're paying $79 for a coin that currently goes for ~$35 just because it's one of about 6 thousand coins known to be that quality. Is it worth it? Depends. But if you aren't a collector then there's no reason to buy it.
