Hey /biz/, I was thinking of getting a certificate of deposit. In your opinion, is it worth it? Are there better alternatives? Which bank should I get it from? How long should I get it for? And is interest in any case worth it? For reference I'm about to start college in August and have around $4k to mess around with.

Yes, put your $4,000 in a 30-year certificate of deposit with Wells Fargo.

That won't come back to bite you in the ass or anything.

Please ignore all the other ways of making risk free money that are 1000x better. You should definitely give your money to the bank as a virtually risk-free loan to them.
