Right now indexers are giving delegators a lot of their rewards so our APY is like 15% once subgraphs go live on the network they will reduce our % of the cut. The query fees won't make up for the difference so APY will lower. Then if we assume after the 6 billion token unlock a majority get delegated that will further dilute the APY. So we'll probably be sub 10% APY maybe even 5%. Over time as the network serves more and more queries the APY should consistently raise.

What makes you think that they would lower it? Currently p2p is pulling a majority of the traffic but the little guys all want a piece of the action. Once query fees come into the picture that's when you'll see the real movement happen. People will go to the indexer with the best reward cuts generating the most queries. This is essentially the indexer that is cheapest for developers but also most generous to delegators while still turning a profit. Effectively the free market is going to BTFO you.

Pooltogether, the only subgraph that is live, has had days where it generated 1,200 GRT in fees itself. Frequently it has around 200. So something is off about the estimate.

Well for comparison, the big boys charge 6 cents per 100k queries. That's $0.0000006. electricity doesn't need to be very exciting. Say your bill is 10 cents per kwh you just need to make sure that you can process 200k queries in the time it takes you to consume that. Average server draws about 1kwh so basically if you can do 160,000 queries per hour you'll break even.
That's only 115,200,000 queries a month. They'll be fine. They really shouldn't price the queries in such a way that the centralized solution is 10x or 100x better price wise. People need to stop trying to get rich quick at the expense of the protocol. Ethereum miners especially.
