>BTC is an absolute pile of shit and BSV will destroy it
Why do people still think the success of BTC has anything to do with its technology or practicality? It's successful because it's the oldest and most recognizable name in the space, and it will continue to be successful for that reason alone no matter how much more useful any other cryptocurrency ever is. The people buying into BTC and pumping up the price aren't doing it because they have a genuine passion for cryptography, DeFi, efficient transactions, or whatever else. They're doing it because of brand recognition. Individuals buy in because they recognize the name and see the high price tag, then companies buy in because they see a big pool of BTC holders to make money off of. It's that simple.

No doubt purposefully orchestrated by governments who can't handle competition against their fiat currencies.

gold mining operations have been corporations for half a millennia and almost all of the currency-usable gold is held by governments. why are we expected to fall for this centralization fud on bitcoin?

That is where the US government fucked up on was to capitalize on using bitcoin but they let the chinks take over and just continue to prop up their fiat currency and stocks.

I'm not defending it, I'm stating facts.

>>28998082
I'm just saying that no amount of improvement of the technology by other cryptocurrency will allow them to dethrone BTC because that's not why the vast majority are buying in.
>faster transactions
>lower fees
>even better decentralization
Normalfag investors and normalfag CEOs don't give a shit about any of it, that's the sad truth. They just care about the branding.

>> No.28998579

the US govt can print money and buy the entire btc supply and simply not sell a single coin paralyzing the market if they wished so

It's ironic how a coin started for decentralization grew large enough to be the centralized standard for the cryptocurrency world. BTC has been around long enough to see itself become the very thing it was created to destroy. Instead of being a tool for transferring wealth, it's now a tool for storing wealth.

>> No.28998648

>>28997033
centralization is an issue if there exists the ability to affect the price through issuance or dishonest momentum. Bitcoin holder's incentives are not currently aligned with the prospect of devaluation and they cannot issue more coins so this is really a non-issue.
