Why do game Devs send shit to streamers and lets players? it's almost 100% loss, yeah you gain exposure but no one pays the rent with exposure.

Id guess most zoomies just like having something to watch in the background, or they think a particular streeeemer is funny or whatever. It's like tv for zoomers because nobody watches real TV anymore.
For some absolute shut-ins, It's psychologically almost a substitute for talking to real people. Look up parasocial relationships, kinda weird.
And then, there are of course the simps who have never seen a booba in real life and unironically think they have a chance at buying their way into a friendship with BoobyGamerGurl69. If the size of channels like Pokimane's tells you anything, these people are a frighteningly large demographic.

It's the twitch chat. They try to outcompete one another with how many months they've subbed and how much they've donated. Also, a lot of streamers will make you feel like you're not part of the community unless you contribute.
Zoomies love having their name read out as well.

do you? if a game is linear and I watch someone else play it why would a single person buy it?
unless it's a multiplayer game or an open ended game that as endings the streamer didn't select.
That's why indie studios don't make it, no one buys their shit because they don't need to.

Don't know about paying but as for watching:
It's cheaper than owning a good PC and buying games and the chat/interactions make it seem you're part of a social group (and a group centered around your interests).

>> No.28992483

>>28991994
this isn't political.
it's a stream of revenue I've been missing out on, by paying to play video games, when hundreds of zoomers are willing to pay to watch me play them.

It's good background noise and nice way to experience something you will either never bother actually playing. Or maybe see how someone reacts to game you like. Most streamers are absolute trash though

I believe your brain is too small to understand this. Otherwise you wouldn't ask this stupid question.

>> No.28994215

Twitch streamer with >250k followers, those zoomers give me money that I immediately gamble on shitcoins. I think it's mostly boredom and being part of something. If I don't talk about subs or say I don't need them the numbers drop super hard, zoomers feel like they're buying into part of a community, even though most streamers have genuine disdain for thier audience. Most the people who watch me regularly that I've met at cons seemed pretty normal, they said it was just something mindless to have on the second screen, the fact they don't *have* to pay and can still get the same content never really occurred to them. I actually feel pretty bad and try to discourage the fake "community" shit and pushing for sub goals, but I'm legit autistic, the normies don't care. If you actually want to "support" a streamer (don't do this, anyone streaming who can't live off the ad revenue alone is just irresponsible as fuck and leeching) just donate though PayPal, twitch takes 50% for small guys and 30% for big guys.

>> No.28994335

>> No.28994549

brain damage. I don't even understand why people watch TV or movies or streamers or anything for that matter. you're literally watching someone else live their life while your own slips away right in front of you.

>> No.28994583

>>28994335
Never talk about crypto or investing on stream. Would need to setup new wallets for donations and cba. But mostly tax, I pay tax on all the stream related stuff to be completely above board in case of audit. I plan on avoiding as much crypto tax as possible, getting donations in crypto and declaring them seems not worth for the potential hassle it might cause
