newbie, no stacker until now:

is silver overpriced?

in the 80's there were some shenanigans going on, a group tried to buy up all silver, therefore the spike - but they failed.

I get the idea of holding physical pmg's because they have real value. It just seems the current run isn't "organic" but
rather the market goons messing with the online nerds (reddit, the chans etc.)

Is the silver price that much manipulated by "paper silver" that it didn't correspond to economic movements in the past?

Why should I buy silver? For every insightful (you) (i.e. if you say "it's real money", tell me why it is better than other options with support or speculation), I'll drop $2k into silver in $3k increments as JM bullion allows that in crypto without verification. I'll slowly update threads as I buy. Starting with the 6k I dropped yesterday. Also, does anyone know how frequently I can hit the $3k buy limit on JM before they sperg?

>The Company has received notice from the TSXV that the Company's shares will be reinstated for trading at the opening of the market on Thursday, February 18, 2021 following the TSXV's initial review of the Company's acquisition of El Cubo (the "Acquisition"). The Acquisition and concurrent "part and parcel' Private Placement remain subject to acceptance of the Exchange.

The moment they can prove production the stock will go 2x or 3x based on investor sentiment alone, IMO. Once the switch flips from "this shit will never take off" to "woah they're actually meeting their quotas (if they do)" then it will normalize to their MCAP.

At $50/oz it's likely they could trade between 50x and 100x, and then up from there. Assuming they're positioned to steal some thunder from the more de-risked companies out there.

The only green in a fucking sea of RED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

From what I've seen so far, earnings numbers don't fucking matter to share prices in this clown world, it's all about what SLV is doing. Either way it looks like most established miners did well last year despite lower production, since prices mooned.

Also the sales from the bullion store won't factor in on their Q4 results so it's irrelevant.

Sure I'm not ruling out the possibility myself, especially if silver breaks out and investors run to the hills to buy silver and silver miners sure. But it's better to be conservative and assume things won't go our way. So maybe set a lower price target for now. I'm cautiously expecting around $50M once production gets going, and blue skies up from there as revenues start piling up and they continue expanding their resource base at the silver mine.
And if silver starts galloping then of course the Bayhorse will too!

Yeah 1Moz Ag a year sounds very doable. They will probably even go higher as they ramp up production (provided they won't lose the veins in a fault zone or something -- which I think is unlikely). Do research on the companies you invest in, anon.

If you want to take part in the moon mission for Silver but don't understand the mining sector, just buy $SILJ which is a junior silver miner's ETF and includes a lot of mid-tier silver producers. It's the most de-risked way you can play the bull market.

However if you want higher risk/reward, you look at true junior producers/near term producers/late term developers which are undervalued compared to their resources. Bayhorse is extremely undervalued for being a producer, but it 1) Hasn't met their production quota for their first sale of ore yet, although it's ongoing 2) Is currently a single-mine producer, meaning if something goes wrong their cashflow is impeded until the mine is back online and 3) Afaik they don't have a full feasibility study. Their ore is very high grade, costs little to produce but no guarantees on how much there is of it.

It's a gamble. Lots of other junior companies to buy into that aren't as risky, but you won't buy them for 0.7x MCAP.

SILJ = Low upside potential (depends on all companies in the ETF doing well), but at $50 silver you could see a 3x easily.

BHS = High upside potential if the stars align (and to be fair, they are starting to align). I bought 20000 shares at 6.5 cents about a month ago just before they announced their streaming deal with Ocean Resources, so now the next step is to deliver on that contract. However if they don't align, your money will potentially see little to no gains until they do.

Actually you know what, this gives me even more hope for BHS, thank you for posting it, anon. It explains perfectly how Bayhorse managed to skirt around all the tight Oregon mining regulations by installing an ore sorter to reduce their TPD so they could ship much more concentrate out without running into state-mandated production limits.

And since you're so concerned about my portfolio don't worry, I'm well diversified.

Checked. Hello fellow Finn. I use Nordnet for the penniest of penny stocks but I only buy in large quantities due to the 20€ fee for buying Canadian stocks. And for ones that have a little higher share price I use Degiro (make sure to open a Custody Account, not a Standard Account if you do end up using that) due to the different fee structure that is 2€ + 0.01€/share. Also been applying for Interactive Brokers but they are fucking incompetent and could not open my account if their lives depended on it. Should get them behind the sauna perkele.

Also ouch, you took a huge hit today with Sotkamo Silver. I used to hold some but decided to sell.

I like silver because the work has already been done. The rock has been crushed, the metal refined, and now you actually have this unique material in your possession. It doesnt come with an obligation to do anything further other than to be what it already is.
Most other assets derive their value largely from forward looking use cases or expected actions/sales in the future. Silver is speculative as well, but a significant component of its value comes from the mining effort stored in each oz. No matter what it will always need to be mined and refined to get more silver.
This argument gains strength when the future (financial system) grows more uncertain, which is an entrenched trend I dont see dramatically reversing anytime soon.

Just a hunch: online "manipulation" makes markets volatile, "non approved" information platforms get nuked,
physical ownership restricted. Govt. fiat moved to govt. crypto.
taxes and regualtions on all holdings and transactions.

If you're looking for a good return Silver may not be your best option, it's certainly a very long hold. The bottom line is however that Gold, Silver and to a lesser extent Copper have been the only successful currency and they have prevailed for 5000 years. If you zoom out far enough you will see other times when fiat money has taken over and they all end the same - fiat money is a ponzi scheme from it's inception. At some point the world has to revert to using gold and silver as a medium of exchange and 99% of people become bagholders with nothing to show for their life's work.
