COTI has been working closely with the Cardano foundation to develop the next version of Adapay. They've discussed it previously back in 2019:

Charles has recently been mentioning a large source of 'liquidity' for Cardano. If you've been paying attention, one thing that he has made clear is that this has nothing to do with Coinbase. For most smaller projects, this would mean that the crypto was going to an exchange. The issue with that theory is that ADA is already in most exchanges.

I have a feeling that Cardano has a couple announcements coming up:

1. They are going to set up a government contract with 1-2 African nations.
2. They are going to use AdaPay to facilitate local transactions.

Shahaf Bar Geffen recently did an interview where he discussed ongoing work with the Cardano foundation on AdaPay here:

He used similar language to what Charles Hoskinson has been, which is that he cannot disclose further details of the project. Cardano said they will be making the announcement this month. You have about 1 week to fill your bags with as much COTI as you can get. After this blows up, COTI will make its ascent to a top 20 project.

It's a top 20 project valued under 100 million right now. They also have a lending partnership and a good relationship with Celsius Network (which is also a top 20 project imo)

One of the reasons I ever invested in COTI was the ADApay news. I find it weird how it's barely ever mentioned these days by ADA or the COTI team. It was even relegated to a few sentences in COTI's roadmap (pic). 'Surge of demand' makes me think they're cooking up something big.
Not to mention ethereum has been getting a lot of hate recently as it's basically impossible to process small payments on their network. This is the perfect storm.
