If you're asking this question, you are too retarded to ever gonna make it. The only reason to get a degree is to show employers that you've gone through the education and training they require to work the job they are offering.

A degree isn't necessary if you're just going to work for yourself because all the knowledge obtainable in educational institutions is already available online.

My "value" in asset management is that I help people make more money off their money, help them secure their funds and/or make sure their family is protected
If you define value in a communist world, probably none I guess ?
By gambling on shitcoins you're essentially betting on the growth of the project or betting you can outrugpull pajeets

In case any retards here are wondering whether getting a PhD is worth it, career-wise the answer is probably not (you only need it for academic careers which are dogshit anyway, and if you go to industry you're almost always better off with the equivalent work experience).

However, if you play your cards right a PhD represents several years of relative freedom that isn't career-destroying and the doctorate does get you some brownie points with clueless normies. While you'll need to work hard, there's a lot of freedom around what you do day-to-day, and usually nobody is breathing down your neck. Simultaneously you can continue with some of the university perks, such as many social opportunities with young people, easy access to various clubs and hobbies and so on. I'd imagine this would appeal to some people here, especially given how much everyone seems to despise wagecucking, though the freedom is what actually makes it difficult for some people to complete a PhD.

Communist here. Your value lies in in how efficiently you can allocate scarce resources compared to all the other available alternatives.
Just do yourself a favor, never turn blind to the fact that markets are incredibly wasteful. Artificial competition, doomed to produce straight for the garbage dump in one way or the other. Always. Such an ugly crutch. To make it worse, most of the actors are humans, doing human things. I'm sure you've met humans. We have algorithmic solutions with better efficiency since the 1980, and soon we will have good real time data and computing power too. I expect a few interesting paradigm changes in the coming two decades.
The US are traditionally dependent on markets, they will never progress past their limitations. The mere idea would cause reactionary mass riots. China doesn't have that problem, has generally not much love for traditionalists and their old ways. The future is going to be interesting.

its good to join some social circle with kind people, it really gives your soul some feeling of "living" again and you can relax. I currently live in a community with 50 people, we do everything together. cook, eat, work construction on our buildings, laugh and watch movies, aside from our day to day jobs. it feels like we were meant to be like this as humans. solitude cripples me on every inner level. but now its the happiest time of my life, plunging me out of deep depression. of course, one has to drop some of your own ego and expectations but the return of interest is very big. its never too late to do this, I am 36 now and happier than ever. 10/10 recommendable

It depends how you view crypto in all honesty:
>Some may see cryptocoins as a method of payment for programs, and therefore invest now in the hopes the coins themselves will have an impact or usage, we can see this with BNB / CRO / UNI and other High yield farming
>Some may see the coins as a method to fund small start ups, akin to penny stocks, they invest heavily in the hopes that their speculation will earn profits
>Some people like the coin because its cool
>Some coins have a usercase, like BRY, HBAR,

The idea of crypto is often thrown around as either speculative, volatile assets that can make you hundreds in seconds or minutes. The lack of regulation and requirements to purchase entices people to bet on Internet coins

phd in physics at a famous school on the west coast.

learned a lot, it was really hard. had a famous asshole ego advisor. 6 years with common 60 hour weeks. it was challenging but a huge waste of time.

honestly i don't particularly care about the value of my job but yeah I agree about the market part, esp for the US, its less true for EU countries where the growth is less artificially pumped
Working for me is just a means to an end, I just picked this cause its fun and technical and working with money makes it very simple to know if you're doing good or bad

Mechanical engineer here. Bunch of cope as far as the indoctrination meme. I took cool classes like economics and Russian scifi for my humanities. Sorry you took women's studies.

Unfortunately I'm underpaid and can't find a new job due to circumstances but I get paid to dick around half the day so it works out okay.

I think effective utilisation of assets and the means of production isn't as wonderful as it sounds. Sure, it'll help lead to long term scaling of production but short term fluctuations are bound to fall through the cracks (unless these algorithms can someone find all significant factors and somehow control them).

I never once had any regrets about my software engineering degree. I also didn't pay anything for it, except time. Currently there's a vast shortage of software engineers and working on a contract basis pays off well. I now work less hours for far more money. Supply and demand is fucked for companies even during recession. Fucking blessed.
