Everyone wants to have lots of money so they can buy big houses, nice cars, clothes, etc. but I feel like these are a poor persons idea of what rich people buy.

Does anyone know what serious whales actually do with their money? stuff you would have to be rich just to know about? Epstein was kind of a glimpse into that world. I wonder how deep it goes...

The ultra rich don't buy things, they do things. Ponce you cross a certain financial level, you no longer need to buy physical things and you turn to the pursuit of experience.

Pretty much just buy time and prestige. Pay extra for special attention at restaurants, bars etc. private drivers, direct flights, shit like that.

After a certain point wealth is academic and it’s really just like a sport. They don’t have to work but enjoy the competition

Property. Invisible property. Scotland here, live near the Rothschilds, JK Rowling, some Sheiks, lots of billionaires have estates tucked away in the highlands. You’d never know they were there and they don’t show themselves to peasants.

>start in already remote village
>drive 10 miles up a mountain road to a remote glen
>road goes past subtle gatehouse
>gatehouse leads to 5 mile driveway
>at the end is their mansion in the middle of their 100,000 acre estate

Literally true.

It's not just a mansion, it's a full compound with buildings for dozens of servants, helipad, victorian gardens, undergroud Moloch sacrifice temple and artificial lakes. State-of-the-art 24/7 satellite surveillance and Black Cube operators at the ready for 30 min evac. And the road that leads to it looks like a fucking peasant side rural road. That remote village you passed on your way there? It's literally out of Hot Fuzz, everyone works for them and they keep tabs on strangers.
I've seen it all with my own eyes in Buckinghamshire.

Something I’ve noticed having just entered 7 figure heck is how having money alone only gets you so far. I was looking at places to stay at my nearest ski resort and I was searching in the highest cost category, and even for $15k a week, or more, the only places I could get looked... kind of like shit. They all had the same tacky airbnb vibe, shitty decor, nothing special at all.
And I realised that to get somewhere truly beautiful and special, it didn’t matter how much money I had. Top tier places obviously only belonged to an insider set who kept to themselves. As an outsider those top tier places simply weren’t available.
So I imagine the super rich have staff who have access to that stuff, because even searching by the highest “luxury” rating I couldn’t find anything actually good.

Yep although most of the locals don’t know/haven’t been there apart from the odd tradesman. A lot of their staff are foreign and live exclusively in the estate. They’re their own villages.

Gardening is pretty lucrative around here, my friend at 23 was the head gardener for the owner of Arsenal’s estate, was given a house and car and 25k a year, his wife was the maid for another 25k.

The estates range in size and class from billionaires to your average millionaire boomer. I did a patio for one and his Thai wife half his age brought us drinks while we shot his guns in his enormous garden. He’s only around half the year though, has another estate in Thailand.

Rich people do not buy art especially modern "art"(which has little resale value.) Rich Use art as a form of legal money laundering as paintings can have wildly inappropriate inflated value's as long as you bribe the right galleys(it helps that giving money to said art gallery can be considered a form of charity and thus acts as a tax right off.). Which can then allow you to internationally move large sums of tax free cash inconspicuously.

+ the philanthropy causes are usually funding movements that help safeguard their wealth example promoting mass/illegal immigration to keep wages down, easy access to labour market and also inflate rent prices via increased demand in their property’s - Soros comes to mind in doing all of this as well as Bezos

Promoting LGBT and BLM also tries to make them look good in eyes of media and keeps public distracted away from economic issue
