Then you get your achievement based currency for free. So if you want to get your two to three tap coins for free, you've got to send them money first. Steam achievement tap coins are probably an even worse way to buy tap coins than just using an exchange.

I think the point is, the MCAP is so low and the entire market is basically speculation so getting in now is pretty much guaranteed gains. I have a bit of money put into this coin, but I don't see any major publisher picking this up for dlc and ingame currency, they like their locked down stores, and Valve probably isn't giving up their dominance with steambux market.
With that said, I think the indie space has become big enough to give this serious traction in that aspect, the future LoLs of the world might consider it, and the steam "integration" actually sounds awesome, they don't even need publisher permission to put their games up as challenges.
