No, whenever BTC makes big moves virtually all alts will lose big against BTC. If we have another ridiculous alt season after the BTC finds its top like we did in the last run, they could, but there's no guarantee of an alt season like that nor that whatever you're holding will pop off. You're better off hedging yourself against those swings by holding BTC and then instead rebalance betwen BTC and alts depending on trends.
