Atom is basically Polkadot that hasn't mooned yet (but better because major projects are ALREADY built on Cosmos). Everyone is foming on BSC now and CZ saw the potential a year ago and built his platform on it.

Fundamentals don't make sense to me here. Not all Cosmos spokes need to use the Atom hub. So it's not like Dot or Avax which is required for every tx in their respective systems, right?

What are some other good Cosmos projects to invest in? I have some KAVA, AKT, IRIS, and SENT.

thinking about getting Band, or maybe Rune? I had LUNA but sold it.

Yeah, each project can have its own tokenomics and independence, which is why Cosmos has become so popular and has so many active projects.

The hub sacrifices some ability to capture value in order to ensure mass adoption. It all captures a lot of value when those projects communicate with each other and non-cosmos networks via the hub, and the hub will feature an exchange for cosmos based tokens, so ATOM remains very valuable.

Serious answer, there are other hubs that intend to serve other markets. See IRISnet for example, which works with China and East Asia more generally. If Mainland China routes its permissioned cosmos blockchain through irisnet hub, which would then connect to cosmos hub, and then connect to whatever cosmos hub zone they want, both hubs make money from the flow of data.
