Melvin is paying about 10% AUM per year just to hide their short positions. That doesnt include interest on the other shorts and the slow bleed that will have clients pulling their funds. They also need to consider RC's ability to turn this business around, I cant imagine they wait until earnings but they might. It could happen soon, it could take years. Did you think you could just hop on the bandwagon and make it over night? 1. reported short interest is 78.46. Short Interest is the percentage of short shares of the outstanding shares. Outstanding shares means ALL the shares of the stock, including restricted shares and shares held by insiders.
But the short float percentage is the number of shorted stocks 54M divided by the float 46M. So, the short float% is 117%.
2. There is a possibility the reported short interest is a lie: the fine/penalty for reporting false information is low (anywhere from 100k to 2 million on average in the past). Hedge funds will save literally billions by taking that measly fine.
3. Institutions hold 177% of the float, confirming the existence of a huge amount of synthetic longs lol.
4. Institutions bought more shares these last days, e.g. Morgan Stanley.
5. r/wsb censored all bullish GME DD, for no reason?

Even more hilarious: as far as I know, Robinhood also lends out the shares their users buy for short selling, as most brokers do. So it's quite possible that the very same GME shares some Redditor bought on Robinhood at $350 to "show them evil short sellers" have been borrowed out by Robinhood to some other short sellers to make massive profits from all the while your Redditor still thinks he's HODLing them to "make a statement" or something.

All you have to do is step outside the echo chamber to find plenty of information out there that goes against what you're saying.

I was in GME since early January and glued to the developments 24/7. I exited in 300s once trading restrictions were announced. I am simply too lazy to spoonfeed you because I already made my gains and have no monetary incentive to do the legwork for you, when I already know you will come up with some closed loop tinfoil logic to "counter" it.

And before you ask why I'm here if i have no vested interest, it's because I am fascinated with the cult-like phenomenon around GME after the show has already ended. But you do you man, have fun being the laughing stock of wallstreet.

I am taking this seriously, but first of all GME generals are full of people against holding.
obviously those could just be retards because they can't make a single thoughtful point to save their lives.
It's possible it's because they have no data to sustain their baseless claims which ultimately come down to the short already happened.
But it's possible they are actually retarded, so I do research to try and find anything against it.
Very hard to find anything behind the mountains of shit of people saying nothing, just like this thread, let me tell you...
This gamble is not a guarantee, anyone that says this shit is over one way or the other is a massive retard.

Not to say there's no money to be made in weed stocks, but is not a good investment until there is a federal repeal on the ban of weed. Then it's a matter of figuring out which states will also make it legal. Main problem is, in states where it IS legal they can't actually put most of the money into banks as federal law prohibits that. If there ever is legislation that really seems like its going to pass house, senate, AND get signed, then would be your time to grap stocks of companies in states already legalized and have a good chance of it. However, that's neither her nor there

I actually bought in at 50 on thursday because I'm convinced in the future of GME. Regardless of squeeze, once the stock is regarded as e-commerce, and not brick and mortar, sky will be the limit. No joke. All star crew:
Ryan Cohen, a person who made Chewy worth $45bn, is a shark. Once he sets his mind to something he will never back down.
Matt Francis, CTO, former Engineering Leader at AWS;
Kelli Durkin, Senior Vice President of Customer Care, former Chewy’s Vice President of Customer Service;
Josh Krueger, Vice President of Fulfillment former senior fulfillment roles at Amazon, Walmart, and QVC;
Reggie Fils-Aimé former president and chief operating officer of Nintendo.
Sales have been through the roof, get rid of the stores and their leases means no property taxes, wages for employees, health care etc. My god think about it, there hasn't even been a stock split yet. Look at the outstanding shares of other e-commerce companies, even ones not very big.

None of that matters. In ecommerce they are competing against established players, not much to be made. People might buy new consoles from them, or they might just order the hardware online like I did when I ordered a fresh 360 right before production stopped.
Their stores are not useful. They historically made money from three things:
1) Online markets sucked when they were big.
2) Console sellers occasionally offered subsidized console trade-in deals. Microsoft subsidized a trade-in deal for xbox to 360 for example, and they only did that because they wanted people on subscription xbox live service, and tje original xbox ironically failed at xbox live games.
3) They ripped off little kids who sold used games to them for nothing. That's over now. Kids don't own games to sell, and even if they did someone would tell them to use craigslist or ebay or something.
Gamestop is done.

why would microsoft, sony or nintendo give keys to gamestop at a discount when they have their own stores embedded on the hardware you need to use to play? maybe to sell 'physical' copies of the keys to grandparents to put in birthday cards? how big of a market is that really? they're backed up against the wall as the two new budget consoles dont have physical disc drives. gamestop will become a hot topic style store with 5% of the shelves dedicated to actual video games. the rest will be ironic t-shirts and funko pop. how much do you think hot topic is worth?

Do you think theres a possibility that post-pandemic, people are going to want a "connection space" focused in gaming? I haven't read in detail what Ryan wants to do, but if they take the physical space and turn into a place for LANs or something I don't see that as being retarded. It the only national brick-and-mortar with a gaming theme, and if you've done any research on the psych of Gen Z I think there's going to be a sense of "whats old is new again" and turn away (a bit) from digital everything
