Nigeria's Central Bank is not allowing their banks to deal with crypto transactions, it's a national ban. The problem is that Nigeria is one of the top 10 countries that holds bitcoin. There is also impending legislation in India that is set to ban all cryptocurrencies with a 3-6 month liquidation period. India is estimated to have 7- 9 million cryptocurrency investors and it is also one of the top 10 countries that holds bitcoin.

I'm not sure why that's so hard to believe
>Be upper class African(yes they exist) in one of the many corrupt African countries
>Qaddafi is killed so no gold backed currency in the future
>Your currency is worthless
>It some becomes even more worthless every other month
>You see Bitcoin
>No matter how much it drops, it's infinitely more stable than your country's economy and currency
Seems like a no brainer.
In a lot of Africa people would much rather be paid in USD or Euros rather than their own garbage fiat.

It's not about whether they can throw people in jail for it, it's whether or not people can cash in, or cash out with it.
Until you can directly buy things that you need with Bitcoin, you can't escape the problem of banks not accepting Bitcoin transactions.

>Nigeria
a crypto crash would collapse their economy

>India
Too many scammers, too many investors

Crypto also tends to be used in a lot of large scale drug transactions and money laundering schemes, and this could be an attempt to curb them

TLDR eat shit poos
