Same. 1 more trade from 3 digits of XMR.

>> No.28745534

I bought some XMR recently after liking the fundamentals and then sold right before it went on a big bull run. It will sting to get back in at a higher price than before but the coin still makes a lot of sense to me. It seems like it doesn't get as much attention as it deserves, but maybe the upside is already played out (or at least that's the perception).

thoughts from monerochads?

purchasing another unknown amount of monero when my funds clear on wednesday. Shame I couldn't get in on today's dip

>> No.28747647

>>28747438

Honestly? Like two hours. I just wanted to swap out of BTC. I ended up selling at a slight profit anyway (<1%) so it didn't really hurt to pull out (at least until I saw the bull run in subsequent days).

Do you think monero will 10x in long run or is it mostly a smart hold for utility purposes?

Monero and privacy coins in general have a bright future. There's a perception that cryptocurrencies are anonymous, and once people find out this is very wrong, the money will flood in. So I'd say it's both

I agree in principle but how do you value the potential market cap of XMR? It's not enough that something is useful, it also needs to be undervalued by the market to be a good investment.

My attention span is just fine, I just wanted to move the capital into another coin because I thought it would perform better in the short term. Watching the video now, thanks. Do you think Monero is undervalued? if so, by how much?

Smart move. Don't forget to hold some BTC though. You know how these things are and bitcoin is and will still be in the near future THE coin that will get a LOT of mainstream attention. The point where Monero and the use of cryptocurrency become normal, average things to do in someone's life -- that's still quite a few years away. Internet has been around for a long time, we even got a whole fucking generation (you fuckers from Z) raised on it; and there's still a bunch of people without reliable access to it. Also, remember that the internet had no enemies, meanwhile cryptocurrency has to fight against the whole fucking traditional apparatus. Unless some random black swan event happens that drastically change things, it will take another good 5-8 years for this technology to be well distributed and recognized. Until then, BTC will likely lead the way.

>>28745534
This coin from a very generic perspective is silver meanwhile bitcoin is gold. From a rational standpoint bitcoin will be the most valued coin because of its origin and collectible value. It can be spent in a transparent manner but many people will not mind such thing, for a variety of reasons, including signaling values and making political statements. Whatever. It won't be suited for day to day people for many reasons, including privacy but also fees - don't forget, bitcoin is supposed to run on a fee market, this won't help the little guy. Monero fills THIS ROLE perfectly, being silver, being better distributed through decentralized mining up to this fucking day. If you're thinking about this for the long term, then not owning Monero is irresponsible.

Complete speculation, just like everything else when it comes to trading :^) If it were to become a top 10 coin right now, one might expect it to at least 4x based on market cap

>Complete speculation, just like everything else when it comes to trading :^)

surely there are ways to value it, especially a coin like monero that has actual utility and isn't just a meme like doge or a clone like lite

I don't know. I feel like valuing monero for less than 1% of BTC is an absurd, so I feel like this coin is severely undervalued for its current, actual real life use on darknet markets and future potential. Independent of market cap I'm interested in gaining some BTC in the process of accumulating XMR.
But for market cap, guy from pic related has a guess.

even ignoring this, if monero were to return to a 0.01 btc ratio, which it was at as recently as October, it's still more than a 2x

long term it has a non-zero chance of flipping a significant percentage of actual on-chain financial activity vs. btc given its anonymous characteristics and network effects. hard to know what that measures up to but i suspect it's more than 0.4% of btc (current approximate market valuation)
